Anyone know when the timetables for the year are usually up? Can't remember from last year.

I looked at the portal earlier and said I can't view until fully registered.

I'd hazard that they will be out in the next few weeks. Most likely the 1st week in September.

Some Dept's are on the ball and have provisional ones out already far as I know, specifically the Law Dept.

    Engineering timetable is (historically) uploaded here when it's done;
    http://www.tcd.ie/Engineering/undergraduate/pdf/

    Nothing yet.

Well my course dept. will probably get a proper timetable out the 4th or 5th week after teaching begins. In the mean time, we get emailed one every week. Then the class is given out to because we got so confused with the timetables and didn't show for a class.

In law we were sent out a draft timetable a few weeks ago, I presumed they did that with all/most courses?

Not a chance unfortunately. I'll get mine in freshers week and It'll be completely changed by the following Friday of lectures but the dept. will leave the original, now redundant timetable up on the college noticeboards for the rest of the semester just to make it nice and confusing for everyone.;)

the law department would be pretty much on the ball for that sort of thing. However most others would not feel the need to publish theres until freshers week at the latest. It can be quite the pain of you need to plan work and other commitments around your college hours and you dont know until the last minute.

Ha? I got no timetable and I'v just accepted law. Where could I find the timetable online?

I have it on good authority that the Maths (and thus a large part of the TP) timetables will be online before the end of next week. I'll keep an eye on that anyway, and I'll post a link when they go up. :)

Sounds good. Although it would be surprising since they haven't finalised the courses or even the lecturers for the scheduled ones. Theres a warning about that on the provisional list. Hopefully they do a better job than they did last year, that first week was ridiculous.

Your a first year, so you won't get your timetable until you go in and register.. maybe someone will be kind enough to post the law timetable from last year, give you an idea what it'll be like, but you need a login to do it

Some of the lecturers don't seem to have been listed that I'm fairly sure have been confirmed. And it wouldn't be the maths department if the organisation was amazing! :pac: Anyway, I emailed the admin types in the maths office and they confirmed that they should be out by the end of next week. :)

So I've been told anyway. But again, you wouldn't know with the maths dept. >_< Any idea what you're doing?

I do indeed, but they don't! I'm in the process of trying to sort out an unholy deal with the physics department anyway. I'm attempting to take 10 credits of labs while being a maths student, which is never going to work out, even without considering the horrendous and likely timetable clashes...

Well, I got it on my TCD email so I can only presume it went out to returning students only. Unfortunately I only got the sophister (3rd and 4th year) timetable, so I can't send you the first year one.

I've been told that all timetables go live on the 13th, and that the physics ones will be posted on the local site shortly after. :)

Here's's the timetable. It looks kinda hard to follow at first, but just check which modules you're doing and it then makes sense. :p

And here'syour orientation schedule for freshers' week. :)

Anybody know when the English Studies timetable will be up? And on another note, once a timetable is up will there be many major changes to it(I need to know for booking buses home, it's far cheaper in advance)

Cheers for the heads up. Liking mine a lot. Short monday and tuesday, tuesday starting late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,536 ✭✭✭Mark200

Got a 9am lecture on Mondays, and then a 4 hour gap until my next one. Awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,361 ✭✭✭bythewoods

I'm both horrified by how hard my timetable looks and excited about all these new modules and stuff!

Also looks like I'm possibly in Tallaght on Tuesdays instead of nice, convenient James'. Although, possible misinterpretation right there.

Just checked, but it's not on the med site. Looks like you may have to wait 'til Freshers week!

Depends on the course. Find what school your in, go to their section(Nav bar main page) and then hit Undergraduate. Some have them there some dont.

They'll probably send it out by email. That's what they did with us last year.

2nd year timetable is looking like pants! :(
