    Thursday (30th Sept)
This has been flirted with a few times over the past few weeks so maybe we can start getting something together for October. Larianne's rollardisco beers would be rather epic. :)

Dates and polls (which will be later ignored) likely to follow.

Thursday of Freshers Week. One o'clock in the pav. Until close.

    Done...

    A few reasons for...
    • Most of us will not have started. I know there are exceptions to this.
    • Everyone on campus will have moved in the day before.
    • An afternoon beers means that we can come and go as we please and that it doesn't stop anyone from going out with other peeps that night. Ideally a few boardsies end up absolutely smashed and go out anyway.
    • The pav is easy. And cheap. Cheap is probably more important tbh

Now we can return to endless logic about when, where and how.........................:pac:

Like we ever stick with the suggested date! :p

I'd recommend the first teaching week tbh. There's so much going on during Freshers' Week that far too many people will be busy one way or another - especially the freshers! :P That and we shouldn't have too much in the first week to be bogged down with.

That said, I'm not entirely picky! Just thought seeing as it's the first beers we should try to get as many of the new guys as possible who'd be interested in attending. :)

    Well lads,

I'll organise a rollerbeers but I'm thinking to ease the noobs in, have the first beers of the term in the Pav? That okay? Plus I'll be crazily busy with the club.

    Hmmm...

I'll be around all of Freshers week so the Thursday would be grand with me. Only thing I dunno if many noobs would come that day? Too busy with other things? But then again, its a great time for freshers who know no-one to get to meet people on their first week of college.

Maybe a poll on what date suits the newbies?? We're all lovely people. Don't be scared. (And sure I haven't met any of them either! ;) )

We've usually meet at the campanile at a certain time. It gets less awkward from there....usually.

Freshers week could be a bit of a disaster. We couldn't really meet in front square with all them peoples millin' around.

Leave it 'til week 1 maybe. Or whatever.

I'll probably go anyway, I wouldn't pass up Craguls-time for anything.

Starting 20th September. You'll register some day during that week. (For First years anyway).

    You coming? :)

    Thursday (30th Sept)
We should have it the week before I reckon(13th)

Almost everyone who's moving up will have, people shouldn't have much on and we can all meet up stress free and form a (wo)manpile.

Plus we'll then recognise faces during freshers, rather than other way round!

Might swing by if Ellis is going, have meant to come to one of these alright. Why not just change the Campanile to the big globe thing outside the Berkeley?

Didn't plans for a beers in freshers week last year go horribly wrong? :P Then again, we're obviously going to ignore any poll result and choose some arbitrary day anyway.. ¬_¬

Edit: I'm probably grand for whenever in the early weeks anyway, I'd just imagine that the freshers might want to go to whatever events have been organised for freshers week!

Hrmm.. I'd say Arthur's Day will rule out the Thursday anyway. As well as that, a lot of the freshers will only come in on the days they need to go to course meetings/orientation/registration so by selecting a day during Freshers Week you're probably ruling out a fair few. So the first week of lectures seems like a good idea, as everyone will be lurking around!

Also, fon, if there's a silent disco this time, can we go again? :D

A lot of people won't have moved up by then though. For anyone living in halls, they can only move up the weekend before Freshers Week afaik and a lot of others living elsewhere won't move up until during Freshers Week to avoid paying rent pointlessly! Again, I could make it that week, but we need to make it fair for everyone.

Come on, we all have enough experience of boards beers, if you try please everyone you end up having none :)

I like the idea of the week before because
a)people generally won't have anything on
b)you get to meet people you'll see around college, before you start college(which is nice if you're scared of starting!)
    c)I'm bored :D

I'll be around that week anyway helping out with the Mature Student Orientation week if you reeeeeeally wanna meet up.

But like others have pointed out, most people won't be up from the country that week.

A poll is definitely the way to go peeps. (Just so we can laugh at no-one choosing Tragedy's suggestion. :) )
