Cheating in the LC

I was looking back there at some old threads and found one off a lad that went on here bragging and got caught it really made me laugh. Someone I know had all the photos of essays on his Iphone and he got away with it in every exam except Geography and he's in college now haven't talked to him since but presume not much happened ?

Anyone on here know of any elaborate ways people have cheated in the leaving and got away with it,or got caught.

Oh and if it was you say it was someone else unless you want to end up like your man

Plenty of people went to the toilet too frequently during my LC to not be cheating

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Studied for the LC.

I drank in college... so resorted to writing formulas on my calculator in pencil which i transferred onto the paper then rubbed the formulas off...

    Still failed.

thread done to death, search for the old one, we got it into the national news at the time, the girl who started it hasn't been heard from since then.

During my LC, I made a load of cog notes. I then ate them.

During the exams, I went to the toilet & shat them out so I could read them. It worked a treat, but I smelt awful & had flies buzzing around my desk the whole time.

    True story bro.

Modified calculators were used by a couple of the nerds when I was doing mine. Also people leaving books and sheets in the toilets. One guy got caught with sheets in the exam but they only got taking off him, AFAIK he failed the exam he cheated on.

I have an eidetic memory which is pretty much my own form of cheating. I was even accused of cheating in my Christmas exams in college in my first year. I just read everything leading up to the test or the night before and can produce it from memory. Near the end of a few of the exams where i was running out of time i would just answer the questions word for word as they appeared in our lecture notes or course books. I could write and answer more questions quicker doing it that way as i don't have to try phrase it in my own understanding and words. So i had to prove it to them by reading a few pages of a book and then began writing it out word for word.

Did he have lots of sheets in the toilets, or was juan sheet plenty?

On the last day of 6th year people would write on each others shirts, some signatures, some messages and a few rude drawings. Wearing your uniform was compulsory for the exams so a friend of mine had the bright idea of writing a few maths equations on the back of another mates shirt. So for the 10 or so who were sitting behind him the maths papers were a little easier.

Mmm. Memories. You don't appreciate how much information you can fit on a flash card until you fit one onto the back plate of your Casio.

Why not pay the toilet attendant to keep notes for your subject; he'll get an extra few bob and you'll get three minutes to study a page saying "Fcuk off you cheating cnut!"

How would you be able to sneak a printer into the exam?

Eh... What school did you got to?? Toilet attendants??

I didn't notice anyone cheating in my school, mind you the place was tiny and study hours were part of our time table.

one lad had an irish poem he picked up the night before in his pencil case.

next thing the 90 year old examiner get up mid exam and starts peering into pencil cases one after the other all the way down the row!

this lad starts ****ting it and tries to hide the tiny piece of paper as the examiner draw nearer, thinking holy **** whats he looking for!!

the examiner approaches and has a look into the pencil case where the paper is hidden under a few pencils, and says "can i borrow your tip-ex"

such a relief.. took a few mins for him to recover

Best one i seen was a lad who got one of those pens from a chinese take away with the calender that pulls out of it. he replace the calender with notes and got away with it.

if cheating was a subject, the leaving cert would be so awesome.

i find most of the examiners will help you as much as they can.

Met a friend in the jacks for a quick chat about short questions for one exam.. We were in different exam halls but had our watches synced so it worked perfect.

Or did I just make that up.. They'll never know.

I heard of a chap that was in the jacks cubicle reading his notes, so the invigilator started to get suspicious. Goes to the toilets and asks him to come out at once. In a panic the chap tried to flush his notes down the toilet but lone behold they get stuck so he tries to push them down, and that wouldn't work. So he grabs, this wet ball of paper and tries to throw it out the window, but it lands on the roof below. At this stage, the principle, invigilator and another teacher are standing outside the door, almost ready to break it down. So the fool, climbs out the window of the toilet and try and escape, but he can't get down. So now, he's got a wet ball of notes, he's too far off the ground to jump without killing himself and the invigilator and principle are waiting for hime to get out the toilet.

Eventually they try and talk him down from the roof, needless to say the leavin' didn't go to well for him.

If you're right handed and you're sitting on the left side of the room (or vice-versa) just use your phone. There's loads of sample answers online or yeh can just take pics of sample answers before the exam.

    All honor level.

    A1 in Geography.
    A2 in History, Spanish, Physics.
    B3 in English and Gaeilge.
    C3 in Maths.

I done better in the subjects it was easier to produce from images and didn't require too much of your own creative input. History was my favorite subject so i was going to do well in that anyways without any other aid. Think i got 520. I remember the grades but the points are fuzzy. The whole eidetic thing was more beneficial in college than in school.

Yeah it's pretty cool. Especially when it comes to quizzes and the likes. I clean up in them whenever me and the mates enter in a pub as i read the most random shíte daily and retain all the useless info. But i find it affects my creative side. It's instinct for me to reproduce something from how i first read it. So it takes me longer than the average person to try put it in my own words as it's like i'm just reading it for the first time again. If that makes sense.

I think it's just the kids waiting outside that walk to the jacks with you and back. They don;t literally go into the jacks with you.

As for cheating... I didn't cheat unless you count the math logs that you're given and have some formulas on it for the areas and things but you're given them in the test.

One of the toilet attendants was really smart, like amazingly smart and a bunch of people would constantly ask her for the answers everytime they went to the jacks.

I don't think I cheated on the LC...but if I'd known during the exams what grades I was going to end up with, I probably would have snuck in a few physics formulas :D

Nowadays I invigilate college exams, and I can't encourage people enough to do the 'fake label on the bottle' thing. Invigilation is horribly, horribly boring, and catching someone cheating like that is the one thing which can brighten up an entire set of exams :p

Nope true story, it happened in Lucan. He had noticed the ring in all the previous exams, he asked her after the Irish in a friendly manner about the ring. Not sure exactly what she said, but they were found out...

I love idiots like that. They get everything, are cool, calm and collected and can't just say "my ring, oh yeah :( I lost it the other day, I think my sister probably took it".

Dunno about LC - I was in a different country long ago - but I've heard some interesting stories from the USA regarding calculators. There are people putting Texas Instruments TI-89 circuits in to TI-83 cases, creating a Frankenstein calculator that looks harmless but is basically a computer, complete with a Computer Algebra System that does symbolic calculus. (No more gnarly integrals!) Dunno if I'd bother, since the TI-84 is legal for many US exams such as SATs, and that's fully programmable with storage for notes and formulas - and lot cheaper than a TI-89. .

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.
