kill/death ratio

I've got a kill/death ratio of 0.93 (8100ish kills versus 8800ish deaths).
Is this a decent kill/death ratio or am I sh*ite? really enjoy playing but am curious as to my level of competency. I rarely camp, NEVER boost, and am not a sniper and wonder are those high stats I see from other players are awesome players or dirty, no good boostin' pri*ks!!

better ratio than mine , ive a ratio of .27 4000 kills and over 15000 deaths

I never checked til recently. k/d ratio is definitely on the up. As more weapons are unlocked and maps memorized, your ratio is bound to improve.....

Honestly it's impossible to judge your "level of competency" by KDR alone...you could be a fella who plays Sabotage all the time and camps by the flag picking up easy kills for 20 mins and have a KDR of 5.0+... does that make you a good or "competent" player... on the opposite side you could be the player who runs around capping flags in Domination or running with the bomb in Sabotage (trying to actually win a game)...your bound to die more often than not and your KDR will certainly suffer big time...but does that mean your a bad player...

Basically don't pay any attention to somebodies KDR.. it's not a gauge of "competence"...I.M.H.O.:p

I dont rate KDR as an indication of how good a player you are at all, mines 1.10, i suicide a lot to change classes to my anti air class so thats not helping (if suicides count towards deaths, i presume they do), but that doesnt make me a bad player, if anything being a good team player means you'll suffer in your kdr due to putting yourself at risk to shoot down air support and the like. Look at wings of redemption, he bitches when people who dont have an above 2.00 kdr try to play with him, yet he spends the majority of his games sitting in one spot with a claymore, not capping flags or helping the team in any way aside from racking up his killstreaks. sorry but I'd take a guy with a crappy kdr who actually does what the team is meant to over someone who has a sky high one and only looks out for himself in games.

1.07, not too bothered about it. As with Krudler I suicide alot to take out air support. Playing objective games like Domination, Sabotage etc I focus mostly on the objective and worry about my kdr in games like TDM, MTDM and FFA.

Thats why we need shotguns as a primary if I could have the SPAS and a stinger I wouldnt have to suicide

1.6ish or something, doesn't really mean anything imo, i **** about ingame ALOT ! When i put my try hard face on i will almost always go 3/4kills+ per death. Wouldnt worry too much about it tbh.

Even win/loss ratio is crap imo, when you play alone games are very random, and you will lose loads, ****, i joined a game of ground war yesterday midway though, my team was getting battered by airsupport, so i quit, requed, only to get into the same game ! 3 times in a row !!

Exactly Krudler!

I have stinger and CB pro on my 6th class, and I'm always chopping and changing the primary, none of that malarky with a Spas, beast at short and a decent meduim range. Currently it's RPD with Grip for the "Boom Headshot" title, but I'm at 13/25 headshots lol. Gimme a ump anyday.

I did this on a domination ground war on Favela, was thrown back into the same game only on the opposite team, so we won, yay

Currently have a KDR of just over 1.00. About 12000 kills and 11500 deaths, give or take a few on each figure.

I've only really played Mercenary TDM since I got the game in January though, so maybe I've handicapped myself in that respect. A lot of people playing that aren't what you'd call competent but they certainly have a unique habit of sticking you with a knife just before you get a decent killstreak reward!

Mine is at 1.16 was up at 1.28 until upc decided to start upgrading my area,never had more than 2 bars the last 3 weeks,something that does puzzle me though is your win ratio,I'm at .99 was at 1.07,2006 wins 2021 losses I was 45 wins up at 1.07 yet my m8 was only 34 wins up and he was at 1.23,just another quirk of the leaderboards I presume.

Kill/Death ratio is only relevant to people who play game modes where the only objective is to kill (TDM, Free for all) Whereas if you play objective game types capping flags, planting bombs is much more important. If only they could have an "objective ratio" where your flags capped are compared with the amount of domination matches you have played etc

K/D means nothing imo anyways. Win/Loss ratio would be better to judge a player but I play solo a lot and stuck with them young ones failing at sniping damages mine oh well.

Think its around 2.78, used to be 3.33 but Ive started not to care about dieing in the past few months. Win ratio is 2.24, its high but I usually play in a party of 6 good players and dominate the game.

Funny thing for me , when i played tdm my k/d went up to 2.0 but i tended to lose most games .... go figure .

Went back playing objective games and my k/d is now at 1.7 something but i usually win most games.

1.14 k/d ratio 24k kills and about 21k deaths, 4k headshots , .89 win/loss ratio . 18.41% accuracy and dropping every day !

1.18 with about 40k kills, it's very hard to move my stats by .01 these days as the killcount is so high, any good games make only a small dent.

I like going for challenges and messing around with stupid set-ups which doesn't help!

Since I've been playing with Boardsies, that w/l has gone up, but my k:d has dropped a little. (It was 1.4)

I've about 27,000 kills and about 20,000 deaths. I used to worry about it, but now I just go out to win the game and try to get some killstreaks. If I'm having a bad game I'll break even, if I'm doing well, I'll go strongly positive. But I worry more about gettign through the levels and prestiging so I'm constantly using different weapons to get the unlocks. I remember one game of domination recently I was using the ACOG on the p90 in Skidrow. I just stayed around the B flag and kept picking up kills. I finished the challenge in one game, getting 24:18 or something. I didn't care that it hurt my k:d as we won the game and I got a crap load of kills with the P90.

If you're really worried about it, I'd suggest playing FFA a lot, as I found that was where I "boosted" it quickest as I ended up usually beating 2:1 ratio at very worst in those games, but a 30:3/4/5 will really help when you get those games. Out of interest, when you play do you get 4 green bars often? If not, it could be down to this more than anything.

When you get put in a match just as it ends in defeat does that count as a loss? It seems to happen an awful lot to me?

I'm 99.9% sure it does unfortunately. Happens to me all to often as well especially in TDM.

EDIT - this is like that 100000000000th time give or take I reckon, we've had to a K/D/stats thread.
