    Hi all,

Due to the high number of fight requests and fighters hungry to get back into action we are pleased to announce Clan Wars V will be back on the 31st of Oct (Halloween) with a well known Irish MMA fighter coming out of retirement for his fans!

Yes thats right, the rumors are true!

Emmett 'The Mauler' Mc Nally will be making his return for the headline fight against the Brazilian Neysden Santos fighting out of the BST Gym Lanzarote.

The event will be run the same as the Armagh City Hotel, the show begin early around 3pm and finish around 7pm allowing everyone to go out later in the evening and party if they wish :)

We have more exciting match ups with International fighters with some quality Irish fighters for them to face!

Venue will be announced soon also.

    Thanks

    Paul

Good to see you moving about trying to show your promotion to as many people as possible. I liked the afternoon feel of the show in Armagh. Belfast is a big move, I hope it works for you.

Can you reveal the format of the day? Will it be Pro, Semi Pro or Armature? or a mix?

What rules will you be using?

    Hi Anakin,

We will most likely not be going to Belfast on this occassion, We had forgot Cage Contenders and Cage Wars will be on a few weeks later so the City is well enough saturated over that 4 week peroid plus the venue we were looking at was pretty small, so it made sense to change location.

We will however come to Belfast but at a time no other show is on, the shows here work well together so we want to continue with that.

The format will be 4-5 pro fights, semi-pro undercard with an International team flying over and one or two D class to begin with to start.

We will be using the ISKA rules as always.

Cant wait for the 'Irish Randy Couture' to make his come back - we have been talking about it for years haha plus he will be up against Neysden Santos who is a slick operater - he felt he didnt perform to his best standard at Clan Wars 4 so will be hungry to show what he can really do :)

I was just thinking that myself, a guy with that name fought in the League a few years ago.

    I can answer this.
Yes its the same Keith Homan.
Hes been training with Lucan for as long as I have and has a great attitude towards his training.
Hopefully all his hard work pays off.

    hi paul,
pauline walker here(RED DRAGON GYM ANTRIM)just seen your line up for 31st. good venue and good fight card, looking forward to seeing emmett in action again. noticed you have a fight with WARREN MITCHEAL in it at 70kg fighting out of extreme fighting! dont know who put this lad forward(but wed like to?) the reason why is he fights for red dragon gym, he also is not 70k but 65k . im sure you also know if your looking for a fighter for a show you have to get in contact with his coach, ie marty walker to see if he is available. hope this dosent leave the other lad without a fight, and marty says if you need a 70k fighter or want to match warren up with some one else just give him a bell. good luck with the show pauline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 385 ✭✭IFS.NI

    Hi Pauline,

I only found out 10 minutes ago after seeing this post that Warren has left extreme fighters and is now fighting out of red dragon,I spoke to micheal his old coach who said he was going to phone me tonight to tell me.

Sorry for any confusion, I simply hadn't been told yet,as far as I knew he was still extreme fighters,

    thanks

    Paul

    Hi Everyone,

As you probably heard I had more injuries from fighters coming up to this show than ever before, I counted about 12 changes in the last 6 weeks with 4 only a few days ago.

I have worked my socks off to get the fighters replaced and today I am glad to announce its finally sorted.

One of the biggest upsets was the loss of the main event with Emmett Mc Nally, Emmett took a bad injury last week in his final sparring match and tried to say nothing about it and train on through but unfortunately the pain was too much and the injury truely restricted everything he tried to do - We at Clan Wars would like to wish Emmett a speedy recovery and we hope to see 'The Mauler' get back to the octagon again in the future.

It was one of the hardest things to find a replacement for him so close to the fight but we are now in talks with another experienced fighter to replace Emmett - watch this space as it will be released as soon as its confirmed from both camps.

The rest of the card is as follows -
    1– 70kg C class
Kyle Comerford (Elite MMA Killkenny) v Mark Alexander (AVT)

    2 – 70kg C class
David Graham (Extreme Fighters) v Alan Corcoran (Kokoro MMA)

    3 – 80kg C class
Joe Baker (Kyoujin MMA) v Stephen Owens (IFS)

    4– 84kg C class
Henry Fadipe (Lucan MMA) v Stephen Webb (Kokoro MMA)

    5 – 73kg C class
Mike Townsely (Extreme Fighters) v Stephen Heather (Kokoro MMA)

    6 – 77kg C class
Adam Byrne (Mourne MMA) v Stephen Lynn (Karate Jutsu)

    7 – 70kg C class
Barry Connolly (Spirit MMA) v Patrick Sheridan (Kokoro)

    8 – 77kg C class
Paul Hamill (Lucan MMA) v Mal Mc Fall (Chum Sut)

    9 - 66kg C class
Andy Young (Tai Jutsu MMA) v Mikael Saintot (Reaper squad)

    10 - 70kg C class
Hugh Harris (Spirit MMA) v Paul Redmond (Ryano)

    11 – 66kg C class
Ciaran Boyle (Lisnafin MMA) v Said El hidraoui (Reaper Squad)

    12 – 70kg Pro
Mark Uprichard (Tai Jutsu MMA) v Philip Mulpeter(SBGi)

    13 – 77kg Pro
Tom Sullivan (Spirit MMA) v Merv Muholland (IFS)

    14 - 93kg Pro
Paul Byrne (DMMA) v Darragh Kennedy (Kokoro MMA)

    15 – 73kg Pro
Tom Maguire (Spirit MMA) v Vittorio Grant (BST MMA)

    16 – 77kg Pro Main Fight

TBC v Neysden Santos (BST MMA)

At this point I would like to send out a special thanks to Peter Lavery,Wayne Fagan and Shane Thomas for accommadating me with all the changes to the card!

Everything else is in place, tickets have went well and we are looking forward to another awesome show!

I will keep you updated with the main event!

    Hi guys,

I would like to thank all clubs, fighters, supporters and IFS members for another fantastic show!

Had alot of new clubs on the card this time round and was a pleasure meeting them all, some excellent talent coming through!

Fight of the night had to of been Andy Taz Young against Mikael Saintot - absolute belter!!

There was alot of stand out fighters tonight - Henry Padipe from Lucan....man can that guy throw kicks..........wow!

Great showing from the kokoro and spirit guys.

Another beast to watch out for is Paul Byrne from drogheda, cool as a cuecumber and devastating with tito ortiz style GNP from inside the guard.

Merv Muholland had a great intro for the fans but unfortunately didnt get a chance to show his skills in the octagon as he was caught cleanly early in the first from Tom Sullivan.........the spirit guys are on the war path at the minute and a great bunch of lads.

Neysden Santos finished the main fight in style with a KO, Neysden is a brown belt BJJ fighter but is coming on strong with his stand up - I think we will defiantely see him again in the 70kg class!

I think we could have sold the place out twice over if it had not of been Halloween but we still had over 1000 spectators from the door count,a great atmosphere and imo was another great night for Irish MMA.

Thanks again to everyone involved, I hope you all enjoyed the show as much as I did,

    thanks

    Paul

p.s - stop asking when the next one is as I want a few days to chill out and relax haha :)

Great night of fights. Some great KO's. Andy Youngs, Stephen Heathers and Merv Mullhollands stand out.

Just on whats effectively an unrelated topic in terms of a great night of fights. Officially the best looking card girls at an irish event :D. Found it hard to have a serious stare down with my opponent with both our eyes vearing off slightly :pac:

Don't want to bash the event in any way at all, Excellently run, great venue, cage, announcer, (1 of the ring girls) etc. Thought that some of the fights were very poor, like who lets a fella into the cage who is 0-4, soon to become 0-5??? The ref was a bit suspect as well, two matches were wrongly stopped even tho 1 of the went in my mates favour!!! Overall Good day out! ps: northern chicks are smokin!!!!

I assume You're talkin bout Joe Baker?
Joe has been unlucky with his fight record. If anyone takes him likely in the cage theyll be in for a shock. Think he lost this fight early but he was a rough day out for pretty much every other guy hes faught.
You should know Ive no connection with kyojin but have seen joe fight on a few occasions.
