Weight loss advice

    Hey,

I have been going to the gym for about two months now and would like some advice on whether I should change my exercise routine.

I am fairly heavy (117 kilos) at 6 foot 3. I have a big build.

When I started the gym I was around 128 kilos. So im taking it as I lost around a stone and a half. Recently I have started to loose weights slower and slower. I know once you lose weight it gets harder to shed more but I am still quite large so I expected to loose weight at a faster pace until I at least shed another stone.

    My routine right now is:

20KM cycle(fat burn setting on bike) 2km jog and an hour swim. I do tend to relax in the poo lrather then exercise though but I would get a few laps in there.

I would do this at least 4 times a week. What do you guys think? Should I change my routine?

Also I have heard good things and bad things about fat burn supplements (thermogenics) what can you guys tell me about these? Should I take them? I'm not at the moment.

My diet would mainly be healthy enough. Brown bread, brown rice all that kind of stuff. Not much of the white stuff in my diet. If I was to drink I would drink vodka with sugarfree mixer.

I would appreciate any advice you guys can give me. Thanks!

If you remain at the same weight for a week, eat less.

Are you tracking your calories? Even if your diet is 'healthy', the amount/portion size counts if you're trying to lose. A calorie is a calorie ;)

You should post up a typical day's diet. Everybody believes their diet is healthy, but it can often be not suitable, e.g. portions too large. If you are not seeing results it's more likely that your diet is off rather than exercise being off.

Forget about fat loss supplements - once you have a good diet, and do exercise, you will lose weight.

You said you have lost a stone and a half since you started the gym - that's fantastic. Weight loss normally slows down as you lose more weight. However, I'm guessing that your body could be adjusting to the exercise. Don't just do the same types of exercise all the time, throw in a few new ones and keep your body guessing. There's only so much 2km jogs you do before your body gets used to it. Try new forms of exercise, such as intervals, rowing machine, cross-trainer.
