My personal preference, without a hint of bias !

    1.You'll Never Walk Alone. (Liverpool/Celtic)

    Followed Closely by

2.Im Forever Blowing Bubbles. (West Ham United)

Is there any other club song which can rival those two ?

"He's got a Pineapple on his Head" is a bit of a classic.

    • "The fields of Athenry" - Celtic
    • "El Cant del Barça" - Barcelona
    • "Z - Cars theme" - Everton (wont be as special if they leave Goodison though)

    Carefree...

    Blue Is The Colour...

    ========

    The from other clubs:

-You'll Never Walk Alone (I know it's already been mentioned, but it's such a song, it deserves another mention!)

-Ji Sung Park ate my dog (ate my dog),
Ji Sung Park ate my dog (ate my dog),
    He sliced it,
    He diced it,
He fried it in a wok,
Ji Sung Park ate my dog (ate my dog)...

As a West Ham fan myself, I can't disagree with the above. You'll Never Walk Alone is out there ahead of the rest in fairness. Fields of Athenry at Celtic would deserve a mention also.

Shamrock Rovers fans singing about Ger Rowe to the tune of Spandau Ballet's "Gold" is certainly one of the most brave attempts I've seen by a group of supporters in Ireland.:)

    As for iconic.

    YNWA is the one.

Silly thread. Everyone knows it's "You'll never walk alone".

    River Plate - Sos Cagon

For me though, Calyspo defines Manchester United :) It's not so much known outside of the club I'd say though. Probably more associated with the Flowers of Manchester or We'll Never Die.

Certainly not the most iconic by any stretch but I always liked this rendition of Blue Moon, the city fans sang it for 20mins after the last game at Maine Road finished.

I think in terms of iconic/fame YNWA is one that would be pretty widely known even among the very casual football fans (and even non-football fans)

Fields of Athenry would probably be the next most widely known/iconic song in Ireland I'd say because of Celtic

I don't think Forever Blowing Bubbles would have anything like the same status especially in Ireland tbh.

Always liked Blue Moon as a song - anyone know how City came to adopt it?

I believe that, that was originally coined by Rangers about Nakamura, and someone just replaced the name.

There are an absolute truckload of excellent songs, but not exactly what I would call iconic.

Personally, for United, I think "We'll never die" or United Calypso are the most "iconic".

its the Panathinaikos fans, they support the basketball team as much as the soccer.

    thats just the best instance

check on youtube for them singing it at football games too

    Y. N. W. A. - obviously the most iconic of them all but I do like West Hams also. I was at upton park 10 yrs ago for a game against Leicester city and when the music stopped half way through by christ they bellowed it out mightly, great stuff.

The thread is about iconic songs. There are plenty of chants and fads about certain players at every club but none of them could in any way be called iconic.

    [Biased]

The Blaydon Races always sounds a shiver down my spine.

    [/Biased]

You'll Never Walk Alone is incredible before Liverpool home games.

That moment when they cut the music and the fans belt it out is really special.

YNWA without a doubt is the most iconic, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!!

not so much iconic but the chant ''theres only two andy gorams'' has to be one of the funniest chants ever in football.possible thread idea;)

Ye I know, didn't think it was sung that much at the football, my bad.

"We'll Never Die" is hardly iconic for a team who afaik were never borderline ever going, now when Shamrock Rovers or Shels sing it there's much more meaning imo.

Well we could just have a thread where every 2nd or 3rd post is You'll Never Walk Alone. That'll be a good read.

I think I'll go with Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole.
