Never heard of laser squad, target renegade was a definite favourite. It came out after double dragon which was an unbelievably popular game in the arcades and it had lots of similarities. The fact you could walk up and down the screen was great, and then the weapons. I remember in TR you had a sledgehammer and could lash lads off motorbikes. And snooker cues!

I think on the 48k you had to load up each stage after you finished the last, and I would cross my fingers the damn thing would load up. I think the 128k loaded it all in one go.

Well I only discovered Laser Squad and Chaos recently because a friend was raving about them and we thn played them on an emulator. He swears by Target Renegade as well but thinks that Laser Squad and Chaos are better. And you know what, he is right. Those games are so far ahead of their time and still great fun to play. Rebelstar Raiders is really good fun as well once you figure out what is going on.
