    I'm interested alright.

well the screen is a TRY Sync and teh cab itself is in good condition. the 2 player panel is very clean fitted with new joysticks and buttons.

Think I would be looking for around 800 for it.

The control panel can be removed to get it in any door.

My girlfriend is actually away in America for the whole week. I could probably smuggle it into the spare room without her noticing!

I'm sure this'll be snapped up quickly. If not I'd be interested in it in a few months down the line.

Mame doesnt emulate Taito TypeX2 hardware yet (don't hold your breath either), so is it some kind of multi-board? Bootleg pcb? Or the Taito Type X2 loader that was leaked some time ago?

MAME PC which can run many emulators and also the PC version of SF4.

The cab is the only thing that will be for sale, I was not aware of the Taito Type X2 being leaked

Hope this clears up your questions

Ah the pc version. Cool, was just curious. Yeah BlazBlue was dumped & leaked a few months back. It only lasted a few hours online & almost everywhere had the good sense to take it back down. Taito Type X2 uses XP Embedded as an OS, so there isnt much involved in getting the games to run - they don't even need an emulator. The security dongle was emulated, and the loader was modified - I think they even got them running under Win7.

Strange, because that's quite clearly the arcade version character select screen. The console/PC version looks like this instead:

(click to enlarge, but even at this size the difference is obvious)

I don't think we meant any offence/intrusion, I certainly didn't. It's more a case of SEVERE curiousity dude, and jealousy too :p

You won't sell it with Primal Rage on the screen... you need some Dino Rex on there to bring the punters in.

Yeah I'm either jealous you have the board or else asking how the feck did you get the arcade version running!

I take offence to that my good man, you will not find a better **** fighter anywhere and I have to say it looks cool on the cab.

    No offence taken lads

    :D

Primal Rage is worse than Dino Rex. Primal Rage was a terrible beat'em up while Dino Rex is a stone cold comedy classic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Primal Rage is just fantasy as well.

Dino Rex is based on actual fossils!

Exactly, the intro even says it. Here's the transcript:

'Some of clay figures discovered in the ruins of south america assumed dinosaurs on which mankind rode.

From this some were of the option that mankind and dinosaurs lived together'

There's no ****ing with that scientific fact right there.

Its native resolution is 1280x720 but it has the capability to run on standard definition, 4:3 monitors as well - it simply squashes the picture horizontally. Blazblue, on the other hand, displays a letterboxed picture on 4:3 monitors.

    Ah good :)

In that case tell me how the hell you have the (allegedly) arcade version running :D Damn internet forum mysteries, can't have a minutes peace :p

    I heart Primal Rage!

There's patches floating around for a Taito Type x board. There just windows xp with an encrypted partition... which apparently wasn't to hard to hack. Should be interesting to see what happens with MAME with a lot of the newer games being windows based.

When you say patch, do you mean the Type X2 loader for the dumped games?

Mame has fewer days ahead then are behind it I feel. Imagine Mame trying to emulate SF4 - it would have to emulate all the hardware, Windows XPe, & then the game files...all with code (no hardware acceleration). The processing power to achieve something like this is beyond anything we have today, so unless Mame adopts a hardware useage policy (which I don't think they ever will), it will soon reach it's limit of emulating newer games to a playable level.

There are probably games out today with much less sophisticated hardware, which Mame could handle, but surely they are few & far between. Besides, they still have a plethora of older games to get working properly/bug fixes etc. And then there is the decapping project here, which will reveal the innards of many chips - taking out all the guesswork & allowing proper optimisations.

Yep! I see they only have one game working right now but I'd imagine the rest will follow. I haven't had a looked in detail but I'm sure I've read that someones already gotten some of the older type x boards running?

Yeah BlazBlue was dumped & succesfully ran on a standard pc. As far as I know, more are dumped but only shared between certain people, & not available on the net.

You mean the Type X1 boards were dumped & ran too??

Thread locked at OP request. Prehaps a new thread on Taito Type x2 boards is in order...
