    Hey guys. I'm a 17 year old male, 6'1 and I weigh a shockingly low, 9.2 stone.
Like my father, I've been thin all my life.

I'm extremely embarrassed about my body and it really has me down, I find myself comparing my body to everybody's and I'm riddled with jealousy. :(

I feel helpless, I really do. I couldn't begin to try give you my daily in-take of food because I am terrible at eating. I cannot eat in the morning when I wake up, for hours. If I even think of eating food, I feel nauseous. I'll go out later that day with my friends and I'll be fcuking starving. I'm often too lazy to even go home to eat. Sometimes, if I go home for dinner, as soon as I smell food I'm put off and trust me, Mammy is a good cook. I'll come back home later that night and I'll raid the kitchen of junk food/frozen ready meals etc.

What is wrong with me? It's obvious that I'm not eating enough.

I used to play football, but not anymore. I don't do much exercise any more.
I don't want to burn calories because I'll never put on weight. :(

I want to put on weight, and I want to be more muscular. I want to see changes ASAP.

Currently saving for a gym membership but I have no experience at all and it seems very intimidating when I've been on trials/free day passes etc.

    Help me out please guys.

    Signed, skeletor. :(

To be honest Seankev, from reading the above, this seems more like a personal issue rather than a fitness issue. From my reading of you post,it appears that you have a certain complex about food.

This comment reinforces my above comments.

It's obvious that if you want to put on weight, you need to eat. However if you can't bring yourself to eat, when you know you need to, that is worrying and perhaps you need to speak to your parents about it.

I think you should address the first issue before joining a gym, as if you're not eating enough, no amount of weights are going to add body weight.

well im no doctor but you seem to be missing a large quantity of common sense. what do you expect to hear? you have to eat! do you want somebody to hold you down and shove food down your throat? you say you cant eat breakfast because you feel nauseous? just man up, think happy thaughts and shove some calories down your neck. if you cant then just dont eat for a day (or two if neccesary) and youll be eating like a lil' trooper! when i see people complaining like this it pisses me off, so many people with eating disorders who are obese or anorexic (and unless they have somthing physically wrong to cause this i have a problem with them too, but thats a rant for another thread), and then this....seriously? i can imagine you going to doctor....

    doctor: ok, whats the problem?
you: well doc, i cant put on weight.
    doctor: and why is that?
you: well i just cant eat.
doctor: oh, and why is this?
you: well i just dont feel like it...
    doctor: *facepalm*...

seriously, take a hint from our old friend mr.pacman and nom some ****!

    :pac: . . . . . . . . .

Yep, agree with all the above.

Added to that, Starting Strength, and eating hyooge coupled with a gallon of milk a day will see you right size wise.

    I'd agree with that wholeheartedly.

OP all anyone can do for you here is advise you to eat, drink milk, lift big etc. etc. but if you have such a serious aversion to food (thinking about eating shouldn't make someone nauseous) then I think it might be something you need to approach the Doctor about. You are grossly underweight and it would certainly qualify as a medical condition.

Putting on weight means eating a lot, and by the sounds of it I don't think that's something you'll be able to do just yet, so a lot of the advice you get here will be null and void - there's not many people here who don't like food, it might be problematic getting empathy :D

But I'd strongly suggest you have a think about addressing the food issues you seem to have. The very best of luck :)
