Homemade Protein Shakes?

Started working out about a week ago and from talking to people it's clear I need more protein in my diet. I've looked into protein shakes but wondered if homemade shakes could do the job and save me money.

One fella told me to use this mix...........

    200ml skimmed milk
    200g of cottage cheese(fat free)
    1 yoghurt
And fruit like banana and strawberries.

Not sure how much protein in grams is in this, but I'm thinking 2 of these a day would still leave me short of the amount i need.

Any ideas for similar shakes that would give the necessary amount? What do you make of the recipe above?

    Cheers lads..........:)

What would you estimate the protein intake to be in that shake? Is it enough without spending on the powder stuff?

Sure it would probably cost you more to make this every day a large tub of protein is about €30 off the net and would serve about 50-60 shakes...

The minimum if you train hard is 1g protein per pound of body-weight per day.

something like this is a very affordable source of protein. Of course, there are plenty of protein-rich foods you could consume like meat, eggs, dairy products, etc. which would help too. A couple of litres of milk per day is a pretty cheap and easy way to get more protein into you
