    Hi,

I am watching the camogie on the Sunday Game at the moment. Most of the 'girls' playing aren't particulary attractive and personally I think its a major turn off watching them play!!

Am I the only one who thinks this?

No! Once you get yourself in between the thighs of a comogie player, there's no going back!

Stereotyping of female athletes' personal lives should tell you that, in fact, most of them are not wearing helmets.

I'd say it depends a lot on the sport. The womens GAA players look inbred. But then so do the male players.

I think your being a bit liberal using 'ladies' to describe some of these players.

    Women playing sports? Disgusting.

Not unless they're playing ladies sports like speed knitting or a shirt ironing contest.

Whatever about women playing sports, women in pubs on Saturday nights wearing garish GAA jerseys tucked into their jeans and talking about the "gah" and how the team had "the hunger for the win" should be shot.

GAA jerseys are hideously unflattering in terms of their cut, as well as being gaudily coloured to the point of ridiculousness.
Am I the only one who thinks this?
    Rhetorical question I presume?

I saw a girl drinking a pint of Guinness with a straw one night a while ago. She was wearing a GAA jersey. Repulsive.

Yes, shot. They are a menace to society.

.......it pisses me off no end how much people slag off others for being into the GAA. Culchies many of us may be, but to be honest I don't see that as an insult- what insults me is that some people see it as something almost embarrassing to be "a little bit country". I'm not talking about going around in a tractor listening to Richie Kavanagh- I'm talking about what's mentioned above. It being perfectly ok for a girl to go to a pub after a match wearing a jersey & talk about the match. To be honest- a hot girl is a hot girl, whether she's wearing a jersey or a dress. If you're turned off by the "gah" as you so call it, then you must be pretty picky.

As regards the OP- personally there aren't too many hurlers or footballers I'd fancy, but I love watching them anyway. Probably because I'm watching them to see them play sport, not to see them be good-looking.

When i was in sydney for a year i used to see the herds of GAA shirt-wearing zombies marching from one pub to another like some sort of culchie mob away from home for da furst time like d'ya know lad.

    I found it quite embarrasing.

What is the point of going away somewhere for a year with the same people you've been surrounded by all your life? Its basically getting pissed with the lads in a different country for a year. That ain't travelling.

In all fairness, I don't think people are wearing them to be fashionable or flattering. It's just what you do going to a match.

Having said that, I know a lot of girls that wear clothes to matches that are the colours of their county, so I suppose that's one way around it. Looks a bit like they're trying too hard though- not too bad if it's just jeans & a top, but if they're really dressed up in heels etc, these usually these are the girls that are dying to hang out of a hurler in the local night club. Any hurler I might add, regardless of what he looks like.

I actually usually wear my county's (Kilkenny) polo shirt & jeans going to matches. Kind of a half-way house between a jersey & normal clothes I guess.

    +1
That point alone can be expanded in a very broad discussion!

I know, it's disgraceful. Women clearly shouldn't be allowed to play sports if it means neglecting their appearance. It goes without saying that being fap material should rank above sporting achievement; damn those athletic ladyfolk and their skewed prioities.

http://www.sportingo.com/darts/a12641_mans-game-dart-mistress-whos-aiming-phil-taylors-crown not everyones cup of tea, but compared to the rest of them she's a cracker!

and Google pictures of Rachel Brown and Rachel Unitt who plays goalkeeper and full back respectively for England ladies football team, you will be pleasantly surprised ;o)

Emma Byrne of Arsenal Ladies and Ireland football team scrubs up quite well too.

Btw theres a blonde who does the analysis on the Sunday Game when theres a Camogie game (can't be any more specific than that, although I'm not talking about Evanne!) who isn't a bad looking woman.
