Do fat people annoy you?

I find fat people very annoying. It seems to me that the vast majority of them always seem to be on the verge of a life changing diet, which will involve them shedding 25% of their body weight, a diet which of course never happens. They are often found complaining about their metabolism which extricates them from their responsibility for their flab. I also think that large amounts of fat lend the human face an annoying appearance. The worst are fat women who wear clothes which are far too tight or revealing.

Edit: I am quite serious, why you would think this is a troll thread is beyond me.

Threads like this always work well with an anonymous poll..

    Of course not.

Because you're not a good troll.
A good troll should be able to amuse people while they are trolling. There was nothing amusing about your post.

Yes because it's such an easy problem to fix and yet they consistently manage to fúck it up or simply get worse.

At least they can diet to lose excess weight. Unfortunately jogging and the gym won't sort out cerebral inertia.

Complacency re obesity (by some) annoys me as it's a serious health issue, fat people who keep harping on about their weight but never do anything about it and fat people who deem attempts to support them to be bullying, annoy me to... but just fat people full stop - nope. People who look down on others annoy me.

Bet you haven't met one fat person ever in your life who said the above.
They are often found complaining about their metabolism which extricates them from their responsibility for their flab.
Again, think back to the actual amount of fat people you've heard saying this. It's always deemed to be used by fat people as an excuse but I'd wager most fat people know they're overweight because they eat too much calories and don't exercise, and they don't deny it.

An aside: people have varying types of metabolism - as in, some people put on weight more easily than others.

I would have preferred a Public Poll myself.

Otherwise I imagine all the Yes voters crouched over their keyboards like a Mr Burns figure as they submit their vote.

Nah tedious threads like this annoy me. Hungover pet?

Why don't you express your views on overweight people to an overweight person & see how you get on?

Wheres the this is a **** thread option on the poll?

But it isn't always an easy problem to fix - only a stupid person would think that. If you're addicted to drugs/alcohol/tobacco, there's understanding, so why can't there be understanding of addiction to the wrong types of food? And food is something you actually NEED, unlike the above, making it even more difficult to give up the high-cal stuff. Sugar is an extremely addictive substance and not everyone can control their intake, ditto alcohol.

Points in bold are quite simply not true, but there is no point in arguing for or against them as there ain't no way of proving it. It seems likely, however, that somebody who would allow themselves to become a fat mess would also be the kind of person who would fall back on excuses or make plans to change in order to feel or appear better, while they lack either the inclination or self control to follow through on them.

'Course I am - only a fat person would object to kuntish bullying of fat people. You ignored this part of my post in order to resort to the above (which is ALWAYS resorted to):

I didn't ignore it, I agree with it so there is little more to be said regarding it. I asked the question if you are fat yourself because of your sympathy towards the addiction excuse, it seems to me that many fat people seem to want to keep a balance between the amount of food which goes in and the number of excuses going out.

You can think I'm 18 stone if you like, I couldn't give a fuk, but it's possible for a person who isn't overweight (and has a brain and some level of compassion) to understand the addiction thing, which is a legitimate factor, not just an excuse.

I don't like fat people who don't think they are fat and therefore try and do things they are in no way capable of doing.

For instance if you're too fat to fit into a cinema/plane/bus seat don't think this automatically entitles you to expand your excess onto the adjoining seat(s).

Also I do think we have gotten to PC about this whole subject as of late, if your weight is endangering your health your doctor should be obligated as to tell you such.

I've never heard of a doctor feeling they can't tell a patient their weight is endangering their health because of political correctness.
And people have in their holes gotten too PC - overweight people get abuse all the time. Ok, in certain contexts, yes, people are expected to tiptoe around it, but definitely not all. If a person is overweight and eating loads of crap, nobody should make a comment on it because it is not their business. If an overweight person is whingeing about being overweight while tucking into a large portion of chips though, there's nothing wrong with someone pointing out the obvious.

Jeez people, what's with the political correctness. I'm borderline morbidly obese and I know I'm a slob, pig, lazy person. Cut the BS. It's not like it's anything new to me.

Well the OP is obviously not PC. Then there is a load of people on here saying; "o well it's to do with emotional problems and addition you can't just say it's because they're lazy, etc..". Well that's BS. 90% people get obese because they are pig-lazy and are slobs. So yes, it should annoy normal people.

I agree with this. I'm not fat, although I am aware that the workings of the human mind arn't as clear-cut as a lot of people want to believe.
Free-will is the ultimate illusion and probably will be the last illusion that we as a species admit to ourselves. If it wasn't, there would be no depressed people, no drug addicts, no mental illness, no lazy people.
Some people just naturally don't have as much willpower or self-discipline as others and this is not something which can be helped; the extent to which they can exercise willpower is determined by the physical structure and make-up of their brain, which is not something that can be altered. This doesn't just apply to food per se but to other areas of life such as academic achievment and sporting achievement; if a person had the type of brain that is concordant with having lower levels of internal motivation, they can't just 'will' themselves out of it and have as much internal motivation as somebody who's brain is concordant with higher than average levels of internal motivation.

Lets put it like this. If person A with an IQ of 140 started insulting another person B with an IQ of 90 about the results of an exam, because person A got 100% with little effort and person B got got 50% by putting in much more effort, would you think person A has a right to do this? Because this is a pretty similar analogy; person A naturally has a high level of intelligence and doesn't have to stress over doing well in tests, just like a person with a naturally high metabolism, good figure and low compulsion towards overeating doesn't have to stress about losing weight....whereas person B has been dealt a bad hand of cards from the word go (in the form of a low metabolism and increased compulsion to consume food (which btw also quantitatively has its physical basis in the chemical concentrations of different chemicals like ghrelin in the bloodstream)) and needs to constantly put in effort just to keep up with person A.
The only reason this situation, involving test scores etc. arouses more of a sense of injustice for person B is because person B isn't made physically unattractive by having a lower IQ, unlike in the case of the fat person.

tl/dr: The average person has an illogical view of how the mind works.
Fat people are given no sympathy because it's human nature to treat those who are unattractive less favourable than those who are attractive. Everybody does it whether they know it or not and it isn't bad to do it because we really can't help it; even young babies wince and cry when they see a person who would be considered by adults to be physically unattractive .

Don't be so hard on yourself killer pigeon! Wouldn't you prefer to phrase this in a way which suggests that you are not lazy but prefer mental acitivities, which are not conducive to physical health? And being a slob isn't really related to being fat (especially when used in the same sentence as the word lazy) , but I admire your honest self-criticism.

No there isn't a load of people saying that, and it's not to be PC - that would imply it's only being said so as not to cause offence, no other reason. It's being said because it's true. Don't know where you get your 90% stat from. Yes there are plenty of people who are very overweight simply because of laziness, but for others, it's more complex than that. I eat healthily, exercise regularly, don't eat much high-cal foods, only drink one night a week - I don't want to get fat. But I don't find it difficult to do all of the above without being a cuntbag to/about fat people.

Also I'd like to point out that people aren't necessarily ignoring the addiction thing. Many people find heroin addicts disgusting for having given in to such a horrible addiction. A better comparison though I guess would be alcoholism, even if certain people are pre-disposed to alcoholism, it doesn't mean people will not be pre-disposed to disgust at their addiction.
