After Umagas death recently and now this, its really getting ridiculous and shocking. How many wrestlers has that been now in the past 5 years who have died out of the blue like this? (I mean not from a long term illness or cancer etc.)

Wasnt he still with the WWE?

    29!?

29? Crazy stuff. Always felt he was a bit hard done by in WWE. Thought he could have made something of himself.

Shocking and saddening to hear. That 'incident' on an airplane (October 08); apparently Cade had done something extremely reprehensible that lead to him having a seizure (ie Heroin, Cocaine or GHB abuse) to which WWE fired him immediately fired afterwards.

If it were a 'natural' seizure (eg epilepsy, low blood sugar, alcohol withdrawal etc etc) WWE would not have fired him; or at least not so hastily.

At 29 and that airplane incident it's really likely it's cocaine overdose causing a heart attack.

Gosh, 29....that's so bloody young. What a waste, man. He just got his foot back in the door. Sounds like he had serious personal problems. Poor guy, leaving behind two children. Drug overdose - such a stupid, senseless way to die :(

They didn't say it was an overdose.

Sick of seeing RIP's after wrestlers die, could we not think of something else for the future? A great shame to see such a young man die.

No, I'm saying it's drug OD from the information given and being a junior doctor! 29 year old wrestlers don't die from natural causes.

This is gonna sound quite morbid, but i was just thinking yesterday that its been a while since there was a another Wrestlers death, fu*k was never a fan of Cade, but i hate hearing sh*t like this..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭Dean820

It could of been a case where he strained his heart so much from the drugs, he got a heart attack.

While it's possible Cade could've died the same way as Eddie, from long-standing complications from years of substance abuse, but it seems unlikely due to the timeline (Cade's plane incident, getting immediately fired, and then WWE hiring him back). Eddie was 38 and had many years of steroid, painkiller and other recreational drug use behind him.

It's far more likely it was simply a drug overdose, most likely of which is cocaine.

Gosh, I really hope he had some undiagnosed or pre-existing medical condition and it was just a real freak occurrence. It's such a tragedy. His poor family.

RIP ... fairly shocked about this one. Thought Cade had a tonne of potential and expected him to be picked up by TNA or WWE at some stage for a good push.

I liked him and Murdoch as a team towards the end, took them a while to click I thought though.

Why do these guys do this to themselves he obviously had drug problems.Family & Kids left behind,29 years old they're dying younger & younger. How often do we see guys dying in Wrestling its far too often. The last decade the amount of Deaths is out of control.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 462 ✭✭El_Drago

Holy **** that was unexpected, and at only 29 years of age! I vividly remember Lance(and Murdoch) being highly entertaining at a '08(or '09?) RAW show at The Point, especially when the block where I was located shouted "Lance is gay!" and he appeared to be pissed off and starting throwing chairs, getting in out faces etc. Then, suddenly in 2010 his run in WWE came to a rather shocking and abrupt end due to what was said to be recreational drug use related.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his two daughters and family.

RIP Lance Cade-Another wrestler who died way too soon :(

Can't say I'm too shocked by this but it is sad. Wasn't he released second time too because he asked to go to rehab instead of going on tv?

Nope, he asked to go too rehab.

The company eventually brought Cade back and had him under a contract for about a year, but released him without doing anything. At the time, Cade claimed in an interview with me that the company let him go because he asked for help due to personal issues he was having stemming from addictions to sleeping pills that he began using to deal with pain while getting himself clean. WWE did send him to rehab but Cade claimed at the time that it was unfair he was released "because" he reached out for help when that's what the Wellness Policy is there for. Sources within WWE, both management and wrestlers who worked with Cade at the time, scoffed at the claim privately.

    RIP.

If there's one positive result of this, it presumably torpedoes Linda's Senate campaign.

Maybe but many in the general public would view a wrestler dieing in the same way as a porn star dieing in that they just won't care.

again highlighting the problem with drugs in the wrestling world

"Hearth Failure" is the phrase used every single time. the fact is steroids and pain killers are th reason these "hearts are failing"

Jesus only heard this now. This is more shocking than most deaths - 29 is scary young to be dying.

Urgh, he'd probably tell us about how this is part of "God's big plan" for him or something....

It's really not good when young guys under 35 are dying like this. Will there be an inquest or something into his death or will a medical report just say "died of heart failure" ? Yeah right like 29yr olds dying of heart failure is a normal occurrence.
