My Story with my iphone 4

when the iphone came out there 2 weaks ago i was in the line for 6.00 am and got the 1st 32gb in the store and went home pluged in to my laptop and the thing for hearing peaple when you chat to them on the phone does not work eg they can hear me but i can not hear them
ok after 3 days ring apple and trying to get ups out no look
then last weak after phone calls to o2 i got a new phone in store after a fight with them because non of the 3 rs
then the speaker did not work on my 2nd one and a phone call to apple to get ups to turnup was still waiting for ups from the last phone at this case
now yasterday got my iphone back they give me a weak 26 one after i sent them a weak 30 one and gess it drops calls
after 3 iphones not one has work was back on to apple there about a hour ago and now have to wait 2 more weaks for a iphone after paying 300 euros for it what a joke
from this i am think i need something free from them now i will be on my 4th iphone soon in 3 weaks from apple how do 3 iphones not work out of the box why does every thing go wrong for me
now i think apple will have to look after me better then they are because for all this s.hit that whent wrong with the phones they must give me something free for it
guys did anything go wrong for you like this ?

im not worried about your spelling, your lucky its a friday so i edited your post so its legible!

this is not an english grammer forum, but a bit of grammer helps and stops people from just closing your thread. im not bothered by spelling BTW, its more to do with full stops and line breaks maybe.


anyway, back on topic - no havent experienced any of these problems with the two 3Gs i had or my current 4.

Anyway, back on topic, it does sound like you are incredibly unlucky, samapple789. I don't think we have ever had anyone on this forum experience the amount of problems you are reporting.

Like i said on o2 forums, yours is the exception rather then the rule. Me and work buddy both have them, no problems at all.

Turn on your spell checker, that is very hard to read.

Sounds like bad luck. The dropped calls are probably because of the antenna issue (you might be in a weak signal area), get one of the free bumpers and that should help with that.

You should go into one of their stores and have it exchanged and give the new models a quick test for any major problems before you walk out. Like most mass produced devices there will always be a batch with some faults.

OP, is it possible you just have the proximity sensor problem thats a know issue with the iphone4?

Symptoms are that the sensor thinks you have moved the phone away from your ear and turns the screen on, then your ear mutes the call, puts in on hold, attempts a facetime call or just hangs up.
It's happened to me quite a few times too.

full 5 bars of o2 3g
when i was on the phone to them it droped all the way to 1 bar on 2g and thats with a case on it
theres no apple shop in ireland the only one is 400kms from where i am
but a weak 27 weak 29 and 30 now apple might give me a 31
i have the 27 now and it as bad as the other ones
no sensor
i have had no resiver on the 1st eg when i ring someone they hear me but i did not hear them
no speaker on the 2nd
droped calls on the 3rd
and now apple are sending me something to sign in a email today god nows what that is

Thats a risk everyone takes when they buy a newly designed phone/(or any item), the first few batches can be dodgey as manufacturing bugs get ironed out.

no the phone is not upside down and i no the ins and outs of a iphone i have had them for over 2 years from the 3g to the 4 new one every year with 02

but really apple must do something for me on this

but i was asking did apple ever get you to sign something (eg there going to email it to me today) to give you a new phone

maybe the htc was a safer buy for me at only 50 euros on a gold upgrade not 300 euro for a iphone

ye that looks legit. You won't be getting anything free out of them I'm afraid. You've already agreed to the replacement phone, there's no going back now. Do not cancel this in the hope of getting a free iPad etc, they won't do it, not with 2 brand new products. Cut your losses, take the phone, and if any thing else happens then don't agree to anything and keep going up the ladder in management. It mainly depends on who you get on to, some will be helpful others wont

Well OP, being that you are near illiterate, are you sure you set them all up correctly? Ive set up about 12 iPhone 4's now without any issue.

eg your weak 27 iphone is not a reforb its made from old iphone parts
me i sent you a weak 30 i think i must get like for like back now i am droping calls like crazy in a full 3g area
or we lost your number or give a wrong number to tnt and do not give you the right tacking numbers

and the person who is looking after the case she well not email me back after she told me to email her

Never in many years of dealing with Apple, on the few occasions that I have had cause to return anything or have anything exchanged, have I experienced service like that. Legitimate complaints are dealt with without quibble and professionally.

In recent weeks some friends of mine have had some issues with handsets; following examination, they have been swapped out over the counter or couriered to them. All were brand-new handsets.

monday it was sean and gave me a fake trakeing number for tnt
last friday it was conner and lisa va email

Oh, I see it's O2, you have been dealing with.

I do not know how you have been so unlucky. I have friends who have been unfortunate with iPhone 3 at a time when O2 had the exclusivity to it. They were always instructed to deal with Apple and always had a new phone couriered promptly to them, since the complaint was genuine.

I have always found Apple to be a paradigm of how courteous, professional service should be, both in after-sales support and in retail, such as the Apple Store in Belfast.

Again, I cannot fathom how you are having to go through this.

The problems are with O2, correct? O2 do not sell mac book pro's..
I am predicting a small credit on your account and a working iphone 4, and not a 1000 euro mac.

You wont get anything from O2.
The standard procedure for mobile phone repairing is the manufacturer tries to repair it 3 times and then on the 4th time you get a new/refurbished phone with original warranty.
Thats what I had to go through last year took me nearly 3 months to get sorted

guys i no they dont have a call center there but there is people from india working in there centers if you like to no that because there is not just people from ireland and england working there if you like to no
