Iphone 4 ordered 30th of July and after updates.

I thought people who ordered from apple.ie from July 30th onwards could use this thread to update on the status of their order so people might get an idea of the waiting times.

Ordered mine July 30th
Dispatch August 20th
Delivery August 24th

My status is still "Not Yet Shipped" and i'm yet to be charged. Has anyone had theirs shipped yet? Hoping it will be shipped in the next few days as a lot of people seemed to be getting them shipped a week early for a while. Some people though seem to be still waiting for theirs a couple of days after the estimated delivery date. Surely by now the demand on the phone is easing up a bit as people get their hands on them.

Exact same details as yourself. If I receive it on 24th then I'll be happy. But somehow I have a sneaky feeling that it won't be so simple.

A couple of people on apples forum are getting theirs sent out two days before expected dispatch so it looks like at best we will get them sent two days early.

If I got mine two days early I would be delighted - I'd love to have it before the weekend. I'd basically love it at any stage before the 24th!!

I had my first proper go with one today and it is an incredible machine. The screen is absolutely stunning.

I've also not been charged!

They probably won't charge us until the morning its due to be shipped?? I sill don't think we'll get it this week. :mad:

Ya i'd say your right. It will probably be sent Friday and with the weekend there it will be tuesday or wednesday before we get them.

Yeah i've the same too. Ordered mine Friday the 30th and expected dispatch on August 20th. Delivery 24th.
Paid with Laser and they took the money when I ordered. But within a week and a half had the €699 refunded. Something about a pre-authoization thing Apple do when it ain't a credit card.

Hope its that simple anyways.

I ordered mine on the 31st and it should be delivered on the 25th.

I cant see it being shipped before the 23rd to be honest but we can only hope!

Just checked my order status on the online store and i can no longer cancel my iPhone so hopefully this means that it will ship today.:)

Ordered mine on the £0th of July also. Just checked this morning on the Apple US site and it now says 'Prepared for Shipment'. Finally some movement. :D:D:D:D Hopefully it will go out a day or so early.
So my advice would be to check the Apple.com site rather than Apple.com/ie as the US site seems to have more information.

Same here. Shipping today & delivery by Friday would be fantastic but I won't hold my breath. Still hopeful though .

BTW, does anyone know if Vodafone are doing SIM to microSIM swaps for existing customers now?

Did you check apple.ie or apple.com. Try apple.com because it updates quicker than the irish site.

Mine says prepared for shipping. Have heard it can stay like that for a few days though. Hopefully not. Looks like we could be talking Monday to get them.

Same here the Irish Apple site still has down as ot yet shipped but the US one has Prepared For Shipment. Can no longer cancel my order either

But still no payment has been taken from my account so far.

What networks are people getting their micro-sims from?

I wanted to go on Three as they have by far the best offers for prepay but I rang the Liffey Valley shop and the girl said they are only selling 3Pay micro-sims when you actually buy the iPhone too - they aren't selling them on their own.

I wonder are Vodafone / O2 doing the same? How are we going to get Micro Sims??

Im with o2 on PAYG and have been with them for past 11 years. I intend to just walk into store and ask for a micro sim conversion. If they don't allow me then I'll just swap over to 3/VF.

I think most people who wanted their phone with any nerwork other than Meteor just bought theirs from O2, Vodafone or Three store. There's no wait (well except with new O2 customers) plus if your a billpay customer you get it a lot cheaper. They got their number transfered to a microsim and it was the easier way to go.

Most of us on this thread are waiting for ours sim unlocked from the Apple store so we can use the Meteor sim without any jailbreaking

I don't see how Three wouldn't do it for ya. It's not like the Micro-sims come with the phones. They are made by Three and i'm sure they could of just changed it over for ya.

Try a different store because from experince i've found most of the blokes working in the stores don't know what there talking about.

I know it's strange. I want to spend money on their network. The micro-sim costs about 50 cent to make. They clearly have them for customers buying iPhones directly off them....so whats the problem!!

Going with Meteor myself. Been with them years and never had a problem. I send hundreds of texts a month and make plenty of calls and my average bill is about 26euro with Meteor. No other network can offer anything even close to that. Will be going on the €30 plan though so i can get the 1gb of internet aswell. Just waiting for Meteor to get blank sims into the stores is the problem. They seem to be delaying. Tempted to cut my sim when i get the phone but i might try hang in there for a proper microsim from Meteor.

Has anybody any idea if the couriers would still be transporting the phones over the weekend or would they just sit in the depot in the US or China until Monday and then be shipped.

My uncle is a courier and I know he works weekends. But thats mainly for small business I dunno what the deal would be with Apple's couriers.

I'm going with vodafone PAYG changing from meteor never ever had 1 problem with them but VF are doing the free texts any network as i mostly text,you can choose the free calls and texts VF network only either and then signing up to their VF 360 deal to get 100mb of data a day which is pretty sweet plus the €20 worth of free credit for switching over to them.

I have a co-worker that got the same... but he ordered a couple of days after me oddly enough... The only difference is that he has ordered a 16GB and I ordered a 32GB. What did you order BTW?

My payment hasn't shown up yet but I presume it will in the morning. My online banking usually doesn't show a payment until the next day, Unless its a laser payment, in which case it shows up straight away. Credit card payments tend to show up the next day.

Ya they are shipped from China or USA. Mine is also shipped.They only deliver Mon-Fri so looks like we will have them Monday. With a little Christmas miracle we could be talking Friday ha.

Edit: Just Checked the tracking of the order and it says Delivery by 20th August.

Strange my bank account has not been charged yet even though the phone has shipped. I was originally charged the 600 but that money has been transferred back so not sure whats happening.

Check yours out...click on 'Track your order' in the email you got then on the apple page click on 'Track this shipment' then put the 'Carrier Tracking Number' into the tracking on ups.com
