Hi, I'm entering CR006 in September as a mature student. It's been a few years since I was last in a lab, looking to get a feel for what materials or gear I need to get. Have a labcoat (which still fits, lol), is there anything else such as pipette bulb, spatula or other miscellaneous kit that you're expected to pick up? Also any advice from current students would be appreciated.
    Cheers :)

Just finished applied physics, so not directly experienced, but from all my experience in CIT I can safely say if you turn up on day one with a lab coat you could easily be the most prepared person in the room. Orientation day is usually a half hour or an hour and the lecturer that has the task of meeting ye will give ye a preliminary timetable and a list of what you need. You'l then have a few days to get your stuff. Im pretty sure all of what you need (or atleast most of it) is available in the students union shop upstairs in the Nexus centre.

A notebook, a pen and a padlock for a locker is all you really need on day one. A locker is especially handy for ye, as ye usually have all those strangely attractive lab coats and what not.

    best of luck with it.
