New Maps

I downloaded the new map pack with carnival and fuel etc but there is no salvage or storm.Have I to download another pack or did I miss something

There's 2 map packs. The DLC and the Resuregence. You gotta get the two

yeah its 2 separate map packs, Stimulus has Bailout, Salvage, Storm, Crash and . The Resurgence one has Carnival, Strike, Vacant, Trailer Park and Fuel

How do you rate the new map packs?
Would you have a preference for one over the other?
I like the old Cod 4 maps, not sure of the new ones though.

Never played Cod 4, so this is only based on what I think of them in Mw2.

Stimulus - Bailout (6) , Salvage (8) , Storm (8) , Crash (7), Overgrown (9).

Resurgence - Carnival (6), Vacant (5) , Strike (5), Trailer Park (9), Fuel (6).

Overall I prefer Stimulus, most maps have their own pros and cons but I think they're both worth it to be fair. The same maps get boring after a while, and for the use most people get from them it's e12.99 well spent for each IMO.

Never played Cod 4, so this is only based on what I think of them in Mw2.

you should, the single player is fantastic. The multiplayer is pretty similar to MW2 but feels a bit different, plus no tubes, commando or glitches, or kids.

i maintain that mw2 is the worst for multiplayer of cod 4, 5 and mw2. need to get those map packs when i get home though, connection problems are bad enough without getting into a damn lobby and have to leave again cos i don't have the maps! :mad:

also, a pity you don't like strike and vacant, although it shows that the pace and glitches and general mw2ness of mw2 can ruin even badass maps like them, they were two of my farourite...

God I hate trailer park. Some maps are best suited to certain game types. Starting to like Resurgence more than I did now that they're more familiar.

are they any good for say search or team tac or anything? i normally stick with smaller/objective ones anyway so here's hoping!

the only one i really don't like is fuel. sometimes i can get frustrated with carnavil. all in all i think they did a decent job with the map packs. would really like if they had included crossfire. great SND map

Fuel killed me the other day. Got a predator, saw two red boxes and fired. It was two guys in "THAT ROCK". No harriers/pavelow as a result. What killed me was straight after a saw a guy, easy take down with the spas, fired and hit him three times and he stabbed me. In the killcam you see me fire just twice and nowwhere near the enemy. TYVM lag. Ah well.

you would have thought that they would have fixed that rock glitch by now. anyway i go no where near it if i have to play any game on fuel. most of the lads i play with all skip it anyway, and if i'm playing by myself i often leave the game. too big and too many places to hide and camp.

This is pretty close to what I think. I'd probably have Overgrown a bit lower, and Fuel a little higher, but that's about it.

I hate Bailout. But on one game a while ago, I stuck on the G18 silenced and also Scrambler, and just hung out around the two story house in middle map. I was getting so many kills it was great. Guys knew I was there roughly, but I kept sneaking around the place so they couldn't find me most of the time. I've gotten the akimbo now and the 150 kills so given up for a while with them, but they are very nice. Trying to get the Akimbo Raff's now.

You downloaded the Resurgence map pack going by your first post "Carnival Fuel etc.", the other map pack Stimulus has maps like Storm, Salvage and Bailout.

Are you sure you didn't re-download the map pack you already had before?

If you downloaded the other map pack, from the one you had in the first post, are you sure you downloaded the right version? Check your disk for a code like "BLES 00-56" or something, make sure it's this copy you download from the PSN Store, there should be several versions, pick the one that matches yours.

Just got the new maps yesterday. I wonder - is there a way to play only resurgence? This option was available for stimulus when it came out first. Maybe there was but I'm late to the show and they've removed it now?

Tis been removed, it was in the playlist as its own thing with a mixture of gametypes on only those maps but they changed it when the maps went into regular circulation, although you wouldnt think it as every other bloody game is on Fuel :mad:

Can't stand Fuel, and that rock issue makes it worse! Maybe it's familiarity with the MW1 maps but love seeing those pop up, but when it comes to Fuel, Carnival or Trailer Park I'll opt out of the lobby! Kind of sorry I bought Resurgence now... although I do love Vacant! Stimulus is well worth the money though IMO.

My mate had the two map packs at his house. I wouldn't mind getting them , but it's a bit too late now I think with black ops coming out in 2 months.
I'll have to buy the dlc sooner next time!:rolleyes:

A certain boardsie(not sure if I should name them or not) was kind enough of to give me the Resurgence maps without me asking. I said I'd offer him the Black Ops map pack for free once it came out for being so generous and sound.

Anyway, I went onto his profile. Downloaded the correct map pack (BLES 00683, the same one he downloaded) and installed. Nothing happened.

I later downloaded and installed again, this time I installed while on my profile(A_D_E_87). Nothing happened again

I did this with the COD4 map pack without any problem.

Can someone tell me whether IW or Sony have done something about this to prevent people like eh... me :P from downloading the map packs in the above way?

A mate of mine kindly offered me the 2 map packs he said it would take ages , i wasnt sure what he ment since i thought it was 2 d/ls but it isnt , i had 5 files for each pack , he said it was the only sure way to get it to work , i have the stimulas one done and now on to the resurgence .
I checked to see if the stimulas worked on his account (my ps3) and it did .I'll leave you know when i'm done if they work on mine.

I went into the ps3 store and went to his download history and re-downloaded the files , i think there were 5 files to each map pack.
