    Hi there,

cleaned up my diet and cut out the junk. there isn't much in work snack wise to nibble on, but what there is are single portion pieces of cheese (cheddar, edam etc) 20g each. Are these OK ?(i've gone low carb). typical diet:

    10am breakfast banana & 2 boiled egg
11.30 cheese 20/40g depending on the day
1pm lunch - mostly meat and vegatbles, its serve yourself so I go big on greens and protein
    4pm - more cheese and/or another banana
7pm dinner - 2 more eggs & heap of salad

If the cheese isn't good for the low carb diet please recommend alternatives

    cheers, RS

The cheese is fine. I wouldn't have 2 bananas a day though; they're very starchy and high carb. How about snacking on nuts or seeds instead? Or else try lower-carb fruits like berries or plums. For breakfast you could have some sausages/ bacon with your egg instead of the banana.

no wheres to cook that stuff, unless I do it the night before and bring it in and heat it up in the microwave. I'll cut down to one banana a day so.

a small bag of pop corn would have half the carb of one banana or about the same as 4 strawberries, (10g approx)

Carrot and cucumber sticks with tzatziki is pretty low, (home made only though)

I dont do low carb but have to count my carbohydrates for my diabetes, hope this helps

But there's more nutrition in the banana or strawberries than in the popcorn. Food is more than a carb count after all. :)

My 2c, if you really feel the need to "snack" on cheese an hour and a half after your breakfast, then I'd look at what you're actually getting out of your breakfast. Maybe you should just eat a bigger breakfast and wait the 3 hours til lunch. It's really not very long at all.

For me, snacking is about letting go. I'll snack when I'm watching a movie, or just cutting loose, but most days I do my eating at meal time. You don't need to snack, or at least you shouldn't.
