My little girl got her first kiss yesterday, on her cheek. She's only 6, he's 7.
She's totally thrilled about it. She said Ryan kissed her when she wasn't looking, but she's walking around all day with a smile on her face.

Would you consider this her first kiss?

not really to be honest but the best thing to do is just to humour her.

    Ignore the replies above.

At about the same age, making my communion and a neighbour girl refused to walk up the aisle unless I walked beside her.

There was a big undertaking that after the mass, egged on by our parents that she would kiss me on the cheek,at the time I grimaced but in retrospect it was outstanding.I remember writing her little notes afterwards telling her I loved her and her reciprocating.Pure innocent affection. That cannot be gotten back, let her have her happy time and try and remember what something like that was like.
    :)

    What a lovely memory Ned.

My kids are coming to the age now where I know they'll have memories that will last forever and I try to make each day special for them, try to give them something to remember when they get older. But sometimes its them that take you by surprise and give you nice memories to cherish for when you get older.

God I'm getting sentimental in my old age.

My youngest daughter is getting christened in the morning so another memory for me.:o.

This story made me smile so wide! :)

Thats so cute:)It is her first kiss, but her opinions on first kiss might change when she reaches her teenage years!

I got my first kiss in similar circumstances - I was five and it was in a holiday resort in Wales. He was seven, as far as I remember. It was on the lips. My reaction was just "Whatcha do THAT forrrrrrrrrrr?!" and the poor child was mortified and denied it! :)

I do consider it my first kiss though - even if it wasn't an adult or teenage one.

Spose by those standards by first kiss was when I was 6 or 7. One of the neighbours my age and another girl about 14 conspired for her to kiss me and the older one to take a photo. It took two weeks for her to catch me but my parents still have the picture.

I can't remember how old I was when I got my first kiss either I was in playschool or primary school not sure. I was a little older before I had a proper kiss though! :o

I was 16 when I got my first kiss. It was just after the school disco.

She took me down an alley behind her house:eek:. I'm sure she wanted more but I was so nieve.

I was a tomboy when I was a kid and I was nerdy with big glasses so I didn't get mine until I was 10 or 11 after a game of truth or dare in school, and I made him kiss me on the cheek, lol.

God I've no idea when my first childhood kiss was. It wasn't something that made a lasting memory. I only remember my first proper kiss, which was lovely :).

my first kiss on the cheek happened at a very tender age, cant have been more than 5 or 6.
I went up to the girl, pushed her to the ground and kissed her!
I then ran off and when I looked back she was crying...

No matter which way I go about things, the results always the same!:D

My first kiss was when I was 6, I was in class and I was sitting beside my bestfriend (who was a boy) and out of no where he gives me a little kiss on the cheek. I remeber going so red and getting a fit of the giggles.

    Update.

I asked the little Don Juan about the stolen kiss and his reply was,

"I love her and I want to marry her".

    At 7?

I asked my daughter has he kissed anyone else and she said "yep, he kisses all the girls but he kissed me twice"

I have to have another little chat with this lothario.

Now to ask my 8 year old son about his daliances.

:( I never had any kisses when I was little. My first ever kiss was when I was 17. I feel weird now!

I was about 7 and it was with my best friend (he kissed me on the cheek). We then decided that kissing was icky and not do kiss anyone ever again.

Dont have any memories of a childhood kiss, sadly.

First "proper" kiss was when I was 16 with a girl I was mad about. On my best-friends couch. I cringe at the thought of it!

Ah ffs that's one of the cutest things I've ever heard of! :D

Seems a bit advanced all right for seven - but it's harmless, don't worry. :)

I don't remember any childhood kisses. I was 15 when I had my proper first kiss with a guy that went on to be my first proper boyfriend.

My younger son is 3 and informs me that he has a girlfriend in his creche but he won't kiss her until he is 4. Glad to see he is being responsible.

My older lad is 11 and would probably die of embarrassment at the prospect of kissing a girl.

I spent my first 4 years of primary school in France. So I had loads of kisses...everyday! Then when I moved to Ireland I went to school here and I tried to kiss people and they all thought I was a complete weiro, naturally. I was just known as "the French one" for all of primary school.:(

I can't remember my first cheek kiss, what a shame! Howver I do remember my first (kind of) proper kiss. I was about 13 and the guy was the same. It lasted about 5 seconds after which he told me it was very "tickly".

I was 11 when I had me first proper stuck in kiss.:pac:
I don't see it as too young, but a lot of people seem to think that.

First proper kiss was in the back of the school bus playing truth or dare:pac:
    I would have been 11 or 12 in 5th class....good times

Had my first cheek kiss aged about 7/8, myself the cousin and her friend were playing in a fort in the sitting room made out of a table/chairs/pillows etc, the cousins friend kissed me and like above started dropping love notes into my door!

    Woo, snap!

I don't think I had any cheek kisses or otherwise when I was a kid. Or not any that I remember anyway :p

First proper kiss was when I was 16, nearly 17. Quite old really but I was very ill for most of my younger teenage years so the opportunities didn't exactly arise >_<

My first kiss was grand apart from the person it was with. Bollocks tbh. Oh, the naivety!

When I was 3 I went to Curracloe with my aunt and her married friends with their 3 year old son. They took great pleasure in putting us together on ponies, paddling pools, on beds etc. and taking photos of us. There's a photo of us on the beach kissing. I don't remember the kiss but it looks cute.:) He's married with 3 kids of his own now.

My first "real" kiss was when I was 18 - it was horrible. I only let him do it because everyone else my age had been kissed and I felt left out.

So OP, if your 7 year old is walking around smiling and happy, yes, say this is her first kiss!:D

Ya same here. In school 17 was very old to be having your first kiss, but don't think anyone knew enough about me to know it was my first. Didn't fancy the guy at all, but he was nice to me. God I remember how nervous I was. and how stiff my face was!! :) Although It's that long now since I had my last kiss I'd be the same next time!

I had kissed guys before but only ever on the cheek! I didn't really kiss a guy properly until I was quiet old - 19!? I know Shocker! :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,305 ✭✭✭Chuchoter

I was 11, it was a game of truth or dare at a summer camp. He looked like a mouse :/

First kiss with a girl which I would consider my proper first kiss, I was nearly 14 and full of vodka and it was pretty amazing :P:D

I was 12, he was 11. I had a taste for the younger men even back then! :o And I had just started second year, while he was only in sixth class ... the shame!

Anyways he was my best friend's younger brother. It was all planned in advance ... we went to her house for lunch (she lived near the school, he was dossing off that day anyways.) My friend waited in the kitchen, me and him sat on the couch. I took off my glasses (not sure why?!) We counted down from three and went for it.

It was the first kiss for both of us, and it was horrific. Sort of like kissing a washing machine. Slimy and wet and way too fast and far too much tongue. And hands rigidly by our sides, of course! Meah, I don't regret it though ... ya gotta start somewhere! :D

Now my second kiss was much better, I was fifteen (the first guy must have scared me off doing it again for a bit), but it was at the Gaelteacht with a guy I really really really fancied, we had our first kiss sitting on the beach at sunset ... he was such a romantic! :) It was lovely!

Oh same here! I was 19, he was 30 and Dutch and gorgeous, spoke about four languages, haha, I'm not one for the local lads!

My first kiss on the cheek was when I was 5 and was by my best guy friend. He comes up to me in my primary school playground and says 'who do you like' and I said 'you' and he goes 'if you like me, why don't you kiss me' After that we actually went out (if it counts at that age) for 3 years:eek: In that time we tried ' real' kissing but don't think it worked out too well looking back.

    Ah the memories...

Unfortunately it was a local lad i think...around my age, cute, tall but a bit of a lothario, didn't know him, he was nameless! But kiss was okish.

I don't remember childhood kisses like everyone else seems to have had, now I feel terribly left out :( I had several marriage proposals by the time I was 5 though, including one from my cousin - we were best buds and wanted to share a house when we were grownups, but we thought you had to be MARRIED to live together, so we decided we'd get married and then I'd have boyfriends and he'd have girlfriends :D How terribly modern!

My first real kiss I was 12, and I just wanted to get it over with because I thought I was a 'frigid' otherwise  I was ridiculously tall for my age and was wearing huge platforms (it was a disco party at my house) It didn't help that he was 11 and short for his age, resulted in a very uncomfortable neck position for me. I was surprised by how wet it was, and I didn't enjoy it much
