Hi all,

I'll be running a 1on1 cup next Saturday, the 14th of August at 7pm.

There'll be space for 16 players. All players will play 4 games.

Organisation
To register for this cup, just post a reply to this thread with the following details:

Friend code (I.e. Bogger.165)
1on1 League placement (diamond/platinum/gold/silver/bronze/unranked)

The 1st 16 players to sign up are guaranteed spots, players are encouraged to sign up even if the cup is full, because people always forget to show up etc.
If enough people sign up, I'll make it a 32 player cup.

On the night, the cup will be organised on IRC, at #starcraft.ie @quakenet. If you don't have IRC, just click this link for a browser based version:

System
This cup will be played in a full ranking system.
Basically, this means that we start off with a round of 16.
The winner of each game goes on to play another winner, but the loser also goes on to play another loser.
This continues until the final round, where we have 2 players compete in the final, the semi final losers play for 3rd/4th, and this goes on so even the 2 players who've lost all their games so far will play each other for 15th/16th.
This means that all players will play 4 games even if they lose!

Miscellaneous details
A commentator from http://www.ICcup.com has agreed to cast the replays of the finals.
Spectating is allowed only if both players agree to it.
All games are best of 1, except for the final round, which is best of 3.
The 1st map in each round is chosen by the Tournament Director (me), in the final, the 2nd and 3rd maps are chosen by the loser of the previous map.
Replays should be compressed into a .zip file and posted as an attachment in a Replays topic I'll make on the day.

So, good news. I've convinced my caster to cast the games on the night itself, which means that the final will be casted straight after the cup finishes. Just waiting on him to check with his boss.

Yeah another vote here for weekday evenings for this kind of thing. I'd love to take part but weekends are out for me. Best of luck with it though, the cast sounds great, looking forward to seeing it.

Yea you missed a good tournament Dustaz. Everyone got plenty of games, I won 2, and then lost to Funky, who kicked everyone's ass again.

Well organised, and even had a caster doing some of the replays.

Can't wait for the next one, will hopefully have improved by then.
