Been running three times a week for five weeks and I actually put on weight! What am I doing wrong?

I'm doing a programme called "couch to 10k".

Should be easy but it's tough and I've actually put up weight. Cut down on calories but still have the few pints.

Feckitt, are you eating more? I'm eating more cos I'm cycling to work and it makes me hungry. I try really hard to eat fruit not chocolate when I'm peckish... didn't work today!

    Good luck

30 min run burns about 300 calories, 3 of them a week is 900 calories. Thats about the same as a bag of chips or 5 pints.

So run more or eat/drink less. (both is the answer)

a few tips are here on my banish belly fat article - http://thetransformationcatalyst.wordpress.com/2010/08/06/banish-your-belly-fat-now/

Overall if you are not dropping weight then you are simply eating too much plus running is possibly the slowest way to helping you look and feel your best

Your food intake. Keep up the running but take a serious look at what you are eating.

Be honest with yourself, no point in eating unhealthy but telling yourself "I'm doing everything right...."

Eat less, more more, repeat forever.

agreed and a good weights session done a few days a week will get you there quicker
