Aishling O Loughlin from Expose, "I'm going to the Gardai about a Facebook page"...

Just listening to Q102 here, Aishling O' Loughlin off Expose has just said she is going to the Gardai in an attempt to have a Facebook page which was set up by someone who doesn't think she should be on Expose, removed.

The extent of the criticism would seem to be the comments below:

"The most annoying woman on tv... she invades our living rooms each evening at dinner-time, with her pixie hair and manky outfits...end the scourge and get rid of aisling 2day!!!!!!"

Is the girl like 12 or something?!?!?!? I'd hope the gardai have more to be doing with their time than entertaining a complaint over a Facebook page. Cop on Aishling.

Yeh, said in the Mirror she read it and then stayed up all night worrying about it  She's 31 years of age !!! (Was well suprised at that, I thought she was about 45)

Can't believe how over-sensitive someone in the public eye can be!!!

    What a baby.

Whats the FB page called so I can join?? That show raises my blood pressure

She must be seriously highly strung or something, all she's done now is made herself look like an absolute clown, going to the Gardai because she can't take a bit of stick. Imagine if every time someone on the TV, after a bit of negative press, went to the Gardai and made a complaint, they'd be doing nothing other than taking statements from twits like Aishling. Get a life girl...

They are making a load of noise now on Q102 about her "standing up to being bullied", if this is bullying then I'm Lord Lucan...

People said Aishling O'Loughlin wasn't confident of keeping her job, well what fools they look like today.

It's obviously in breach of the "Being Mean on the Internet Act of 2006" and an example should be made.

The Gardai have more important things to be doing, such as writing letters to the Seanad...

The person who set up the page is a sad c##t and considering all the legal aspects of liable in this country Im sure anyone with a Journalism degree would consider going to the Guards/solicitors to have pages removed. Sure arnt they suing someone over a blog in the states.

Yet another person who doesn't understand the Internet and will get burned for her troubles.

Chances are she'll read this thread:

Heres what you do. Ignore it. IGNORE IT. Never think about it again. Its just the internet. Theres a facebook hate page on anyone who's appeared on TV for 5 seconds. Some guy with a beard in a meteor ad for example.

Here's what you DON'T do. Pay attention to it. Take it seriously. Bring more attention to it by taking it seriously. It's the Internet. If you do this, it = justification for the making of said facebook page, and things will only get worse.

Next thing you know theres a youtube remix.

" This site was set up by a person with an unwarranted, personal gripe against me and sadly now you all have become embroiled in a shameful internet bullying campaign - which in fairness is a lot more of a scourge than my 'pixie hair and manky outfits'. This kind of poisonous internet activity is wrong and ultimately very dangerous. Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can kill. Please think twice the next time you plan on writing something horrible on the internet about ANYBODY because the words don't just disappear into the ether, they are ultimately published and can have very serious repercussions. I'm made of the same stuff as anyone else and I'm just as vulnerable to hateful comments as the next person.

It would do you all well to have a little more tolerance when it comes to other people's appearances. I'm a journalist, not a model and the configuration of my features or my wardrobe choices really don't matter in the greater scheme of things. I'm a good person with a clear conscience and I don't deserve this level of nastiness.
Thank God we live in a democracy where we can wear what we want instead of being hidden under a burka. And thank God for freedom of speech but it's sad to see that privilege being abused by misguided people. Aren't these kind of campaigns better suited to fighting for real injustices, say like internet bullying?

This is a subject very close to my heart and I'll be investigating the legal implications of sites like these. In the meantime, I'll be wearing what I like and keeping my hair short.

    Thank you for your time,

    Aisling O'Loughlin.

    /facepalm

Since when was it illegal to be a "sad c*nt"??? It's hardly something that's worth coming on the airwaves to mention, let alone tell the country that you are that childish, that you would go to the Gardai over a Facebook page that someone set up about you that was mildly critical you. Imagine someone like Eamon Dunphy, Bill Cullen or Eddie Hobbs coming on the radio and saying that they were going to the Gardai because someone mentioned on a Facebook page didn't like them?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The girl obviously needs to spend a few quid on a good PR person who can advise her properly before she comes on the radio talking shyte about going to the Gardai about a Facebook page...

Ah c'mon now Ash (can I call you Ash?) grow a pair. Only 70 'likers' of your hate page.

And just so you know: I totally would...wolfystyle (doggystyle but, more 'passionate').

This thread is only 5 minutes old and already 677 people have read the contents, all because she came on the radio to complain about a Facebook page that 75 people said they liked, which was very midly critical of her.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones...", CRINGE!!!!!!!!

Jesus, the group only had 78 followers before this story was posted. Watch that number shoot up now that she's drawn attention to it :)

That's all she wants anyway obviously.. I hope a Garda kicks her in the gee for wasting their time
