Subject selections and deferrals

Does anyone know if its possible for deferrals to affect your subject selection? I'm sitting 2 exams next week I had to defer (Biology paper 2 & EOS), 2nd year registration is online from 24th Aug, but Autumn results aren't released until 8th Sept.
My subject choices are Zoology and EOS, will I be able to register for these modules on the 24th, and provided I pass my exams, get into them? Or, will I have to wait to register until I get my results to see if I passed Bio and EOS overall?
I'm pretty happy I'll pass as my summer results were good, I'm just wondering if it's going to mess up/complicate 2nd year reg in any way?
