    Hi all,

Another quick question if I may....

I bought a calipers for measuring body fat % and used the following body fat % calculator

now here are my stats :

    182 lbs
    5ft 11"
    32" waist
    40" chest

So this is telling me I am 15.95% body fat.
    Can this be right ?

I am not fat anymore and despite having lost alot of fat I haven't made huge losses on the scales but 16% seems very low no ? shouldn't I be in the male model category at that % :D

    thanks in advance
    rob

A callipers isn't very accurate but it should at least be consistent at measuring progress if you do it the same every time.

16% is probably about average, definitely not male model category. Don't worry about the numbers too much.

I think you are confusing BMI results with BF%

I.e, BMI score of 16 is low, in BF its not really. At 10% or less BF is approximately where a guys abs will start to show. Below 10 is 6 pack region. (rough, everyone is different)

I would just like to point out I was joking about the model bit - I did think 16% was more in the athletic % than average though - maybe its roughly right then

    only 6% to lose so ! :D
    thanks
