Was reading up a bit on the tournament, there is no cut which is unusual but only a field of 81 which explains that i suppose.

The 16th hole is 677 yards long!! Some monster....

He has been in the top 5 once (when Tiger wasnt playing) in the last 9 years, best finish 4th!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Lumping money on Harrington, back in form. Provided he can keep the triple-bogey monster at bay :pac:

Don't think Tiger was would have stopped him finishing top 5 ;)

Actually came 2nd in the very first and top 10 the first 4 years.
Seems to have lost interest in this since he started winning majors though :pac: as have you said he has a very poor recent record.

Maybe the number 1 spot up for grabs will motivate him :)

P.S I'm sure Conno was just fishing with "he loves this comp and course"

    I went with

    McIlroy e/w @ 22/1

    Dustin johnston e/w @ 45/1

    Bubba Watson e/w @ 125/1

Forgive me lads, but are my eyes deceiving me?

Why is no-one backing tiger woods? seriously like, he's won here seven times - he didnt exactly play badly at the british open (he got the very worst of the conditions on the friday).

    I think at 9/2 he's unreal value - hence he's my bet.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 877 ✭✭✭blackwaterfish

i agree re. woods.... esp. if he brings anything near his putting A-game.

His odds are short i presume.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,216 ✭✭✭aster99

The way Tiger is going his days at number 1 might be running out, especially with Mickelson at -4

Eduardo Molinari with Colin Byrne on the bag is a real dark horse.

the CB factor will hardly make that much difference?

A decent caddy who had a bitter swipe at his previous employer in public isn't going to make Eduardo a better putter.

true,i still think Fran Moli is worse again, especially at the short one's,with CB on the bag there'd be no chance of doing a Tiger and banging anything that moves,CB would have his notepad out for his next book

    P-Ton?

    P-Hack?

So G-Mac and P-Hack on the 2nd tee

    slow day here in d'office.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 877 ✭✭✭blackwaterfish

TW at the end of round 2, now +6 !

    75th out of 81.

Whistling Straits next week is going to be some carnage(even worse then this week) if he continues playing like this.

From the betting perspective, Overton and Van Pelt are doing well for me. Fran mid-table though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,844 ✭✭✭Jimdagym

Mickelson keeps finding fairways like this and he will be a serious contender next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 948 ✭✭✭SSK

Westwood has pulled out according to the BBC website and out of the PGA next week as well. Sounds like a flare up of the calf injury.

Could have Monty worried ahead of the Ryder Cup as well
