Summer Group Buy - Intelligentsia Coffee

It's been over 6 months since the last group buy. Any interest in one now?

We'd need someone Dublin based to pull the order together and distribute, preferably someone who's been involved in a Group buy before and knows what's associated. Suggestions also welcome as to which roastery to use.

Anyone's welcome to join. We pick which roastery to use, put our order together and have it sent to Ireland using 3/4 day delivery (Fedex or the like). We then meet up and distribute. Search the forum for details on previous group buys or feel free to ask away here either.

I'd be interested in partaking, though a touch busy at the moment to organise...

Don't mind the roastery choice particularly.

    Interested too :)

I'll step up for this one.
If anyone has the excel spreadsheet to calculate costs etc it would be handy.

I'm living in Rathmines and working on Pearse street so should be handy enough for a meet-up / collections.
I'll be away in Austria from the 13th - the 25th though so if everyone is ok with it happening after that then alls good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,459 ✭✭✭seanos

I'd be interested in this also.

That's great Doodee thanks. I just used an excel sheet and posted a screenshot as it was updated. I don't have one to hand but can put one together for you when we kick off with the orders.

Ah, throw another shrimp on the barbee!

After the 25th will probably suit perfectly

    Me too.

Any suggestions for places to order from?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 271 ✭✭Clinker

Just back from hols in time to join in! Yes, please!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 88 ✭✭arabica69

I would also gladly partake... has there been any suggestion of roasteries?

    Possibles:
    transend - Canada
    Matteo - Sweden
    Tim Wendleboe - Norway

However, I totally open if someone has somewhere new to try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,272 ✭✭✭donnacha

I still haven't tried anything from 49th Parallel so I'll throw them in the hat. Was sort of keen on Tim Wendelboe but they may not have enough choices to suit a group buy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,464 ✭✭✭snollup

    What about Intelligentsia?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,482 ✭✭✭RE*AC*TOR

PTs coffee maybe... To add to the above...

    Also Kaffa.no are nice...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,309 ✭✭✭✭alastair

I'm easy, but my tuppence - if it's something trans-atlantic; 49th Parallel and Intelli buys went down well in this household, and Supreme Roastworks in Norway are a good euro option.

I'd love the BlackCat again, but happy to try whatever is the choice.

What mugs are you both talking about? Am on the hunt for nice cappuccino cups.

These are quite nice but very pricey!

on the hunt for good espresso cups, the intelli wing cups are the business but they don't seem to sell them through the site

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,482 ✭✭✭RE*AC*TOR

Those intelli cappa cups are really lovely. If pouring latte art is your thing - you'll love em.

Count me in for coffee & cool cups!

    Cheers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭Doodee

Heh, I love it when a plan comes together.

Have been eyeing up the Cap cups for a while so this suits me to the ground.

just wondering, if we are doig a massive order then should I email them to ensure availablity for the cups/mugs/whatever else?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 762 ✭✭✭SeaSide

I'll get in on the act too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 127 ✭✭Regular Latte

    Intelligentsia is always good.

(Though I did like the look of Transend as well - maybe the next group buy shouldn't wait so long)

Aye, following a poke from Mr Magnanimous :D I'll throw my hat in the ring too. 500gr of whatever espresso bean is going I suppose. I'm good for cups. (I use little coffee shot glasses bought in Italy, 6 for €3. 5 left :( )

I'd like to join in too for a couple of bags of beans. New to all this group buy malarky, what's the story?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭Doodee

Basically we choose a place to order coffee from, people request what they would like, it gets ordered and then when it arrives people collect it / have a coffee meet up.

Big thanks to PPC for getting a spreadsheet sorted.
    It viewable by everyone here:

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ajg0ZOFV--yRdHc3c1NfNnVkMlJFQTY2bmZjVWRfV0E&hl=en&authkey=COXbm8sJ#gid=0

might ask either Mr.Magnolia or RE*AC*TOR to make any updates, if necessary, when I head off.
Will allow people to change their minds etc.

So when you're ready just post with Which coffee and what quantities you would like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,459 ✭✭✭seanos

Sorry to be a pain - but the spreadsheet will need to be updated to include the mugs on the logo wares page - and I'm considering that mexican wrestler teeshirt too - the ladies can't resist a man in coffee nerd / mexican wrestler combo attire don'cha know?

I'm with you... of course we can never appear at the same party in the same T shirt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,396 ✭✭✭PPC

Tshirt and mugs are now added.

I didn't relise .5lb was a different price to half of 1lb. The cost will be a little off until i rework the formulas.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 10,440 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr Magnolia

Is Stephen still working at intelli?

For the purpose of shipping costs 1 mug/tshirt = 1lb.

I'll put my order together over the coming days. Are you happy enough to maintain that spreadsheet PPC? I can do it either?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,396 ✭✭✭PPC

Yeah i've no problem doing it while Doodee is away
