    Hey guys,

    Probably too general a question but what would you say is the ideal amount of calories to have per day for muscle building?

    And should that be spread out evenly over five or six meals?

    I want to increase my calorie intake but don't want to have too much so that it goes on as fat.

    Far too general...

    And you can definitely increase your calorie intake ALOT without getting fat if you just eat the right things!

    Do weight gainers fall in to that category?

    Read the stickies, this is covered in pretty good detail.

    Para-phrasing;
    Work out maintenance calories,
    increase by 20%
    reach this mark by eating cleanly, inc a lot of protein.
    Drink milk and squat lots

    Weight gainers are protein shakes with a helping of carbs btw, not some magic drink, although perfect for after training

    Ok cheers.

    The reason I ask is I think I need to increase my calories because I'm not seeing much muscle gain. However, I'm a bit weary because the last time I started to take weight gainers, I put it on mainly as fat.

    Unless you are already pretty big, you should be able to meet maintenance+20% via regular food and some whey only shakes
