In a field. The older lads in the estate used to give us the dregs of their Fosters cans if they were in a good mood. Was about 11.

In an ex boyfriend's house. Cans of Ritz which is something I haven't touched since. I'm not even sure if it's available anymore.

Auld lad bought me 2 bottles of beer on a paddy's day when i was 16, he said it was better to have me drinking with him so i wouldn't be out gettin in trouble and drinking to much and being sick.

Dead right to, if more auld lads were like him we wouldn't have so many feckin idiot kids gettin so messed up on booze all the time

Oh,actually that post just reminded me!
I was about 6 or so and got up one morning, downed what i thought was just a bottle of 7 up in one go, but turned out there was plenty of vodka in it too, which had been left over from the night before.
I fell into the open dishwasher, which is were my parents found me when they got up :o

    I'd forgotten bout that!

Cans in a field before going to a dishko to celebrate finishing the Juniour. That was the first "proper" drink, I'd tasted it before when the parents or people over were drinking of course.

The first time I drank was on a French Exchange. I was only 15 and it was whiskey:D. Sweet Christ my head hurt the next day.

    Ah, memories.

Was 12, the summer before first year and a group of us (little cúnts every last one) planned to go into town on the lock, so I got together £20, fished outside the offy for ages and eventually someone came along, he asked what I wanted, I didn't have a clue- so said get whatever. He comes out with some diabolical dishwater white wine, and says it cost £20. Thought nothing of it.

Anyway, got to town only to find everyone else decided not to drink, they chickened out. fúck them I thought, and downed the whole bottle there and then. Puked in Stephens' green, puked on the O'Connell bridge, puked in Grafton Street, puked all over an old man on the bus. Fell in the door, stinking of wine and puke and probably píss, the aul one's standing there- 'what in the bejaysisssss', I fell flat out on the carpet and went 'had a pizza don't feel well' and then puked the rest of the bottle all over the carpet and the furniture.

Didn't see the light of day for the rest of the summer. Good times.

I was 15, there was a new girl in school who was 16 and in my class we became friends, i started drinking naggins straight for a year or so once a week or so! A few people are shocked that i didnt start drinking by a sip of wine or beer at dinner with the fam!

My first experiences with drink came when I was about 16 and trying to learn snooker in a local mining club. This was in South Africa, where they weren't too careful about age, but it paid to drink slowly and carefully, because snooker is hard enough when you're sober ...

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

My Da, when i was around 15 he'd always offer me a Miller with my dinner. Maybe another 1 or 2 after. He wasn't an alcoholic btw, tbf i'm happy i started with him, i hate the young ones who start off in the fields, getting way to drunk, breaking things etc and causing a load of hassle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭blueyedson

In a field, 2 cans of cider ,got someone to get them the day before and had them stashed away for the occasion.

12 i think we were ,great owl crack, (apart from the puking over a wall) the 1st couple of years drinking usually had a puke thrown in somewhere ,thankfully that stopped soon after.

Mine was whiskey aged 14 in 1999 down the back of the cinema during The Talented Mister Ripley.

I needed it to get through that steaming pile of sh*te.

I became a pioneer in national school. The day after I joined the club I found a can of Heineken behind the priests house. I reckon it was a sign from satan, a sign I took full heed of. I drank that can of Heineken right down right there and then. My life has been a slippery slope of debauchery ever since.
