how do you get the correct amount of powder?

i see all sorts of amounts of powder you should take measured in grams but how do you go about gettin say 60 or 70 grams? do you need a measuring scales or something?

You get a scoop in the tub.

didnt get 1 in the tubs i got outa holland and barretts ;/ dats wen ya know u aint bought quality stuff haha oh well tastes nice at least

Get a knife or fork and poke about in the tub. Sometimes the scoop is way down the bottom.

Tip out the tub onto a table and see if the scoop is in there.

I don't have a scoop so I use a 50ml shot glass. Two scoops ~35g :cool:

That H&B stuff should definitely have a scoop. It's pure muck though. For smaller things like creatine and taurine I use a precision scales.

question why is it muck? do u mean taste wise cos i quite like it

or quality wise? i dont know how powders would be compared between one another

I guess the proper way to compare powders would be to look at the amount of pure protein they contain by volume, and how much cholesterol, fats and other things they have in them. I get the feeling that a lot of people compare them based on who has the flashiest adds and packaging though.

A lot of the bulk suppliers stiff you for a scoop as well.

Personally I use a scale if in the kitchen, cheap kitchen scales accurate to 1g for €20.00 is well worth the money.

Having said that I don't agonise over a gram here or there.

ATM - I tend to go for 350mls milk with 70g of chocolate whey protein per shake. That's about 65g of total protein assuming the whey is about 75% net protein.

A scale can also be handy to weigh the tub to see if it's net weight is accurate - you would be surprised.
