Yes, you read correctly. David Drumm, the former CEO of Anglo-Irish Bank, "claims Anglo owes him some €2,620,695 in salary, pension and deferred bonus payments and also wants damages, including damages for “mental distress”. (Drumm is the individual who fled Ireland and was tracked to Connecticut by Charlie Bird on RTÉ earlier this year, here).

    Full story here: http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2010/0730/breaking71.html

The gall of it all makes me speechless.

I think I'll make a list of bankers, developers, politicians and anyone else who's pissed me off, and do the same as Drumm.

In the meantime I can do a Drumm-roll, if someone will lend me the car-park fee for the Cliffs of Moher.

I'm suffering mental distress over all the money I have to pay to bail out Anglo, can I sue him for that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,012 ✭✭✭✭Cuddlesworth

Depends, most of the people in top level positions have airtight contracts. You might find he could steal 2 million from the bank and still claim his bonus etc. Really a problem for the board for letting these kind of contracts be allowed.

    Look !

These leather necks have no fcukun shame - they are being advised by high priced lawers that attack is the best form of sefence.

This cnunt thinks he can tough it out and arrive at a stalemate so that Anglo give up on getting anythin on him.

He has badly miss read the mood of the nation - this smug ba$tard must be wikled our of his mansion in the States and made to answer fer his actions.

What a fcukin thunderin fcukin cnunt ......

He has no shame, but what has he to lose? He has liabilities that far outweigh his assets and is a public pariah, with a reputation in tatters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭pjmn

Well I for one sincerely hope he wins his case for mental distress caused....

... then as the precedent would have been set - we could all sue him for exactly the same thing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,744 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

if the state pays this evil man 1 euro for stress - the tax payers of Ireland should take to the streets like the Greeks or pensioners - sell his mansions in Malahide and Cape Cod would be a better idea and let him and his lovely wife survive on 190 euro a week in a hostel - and that would be being kind to this scumbag

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,688 ✭✭✭Kasabian

He will get money. He will live in quite comfort for the rest of his life. No one will say a word other than the soundbites from the usual suspects.

Face up to it we are a country of idiots who are getting raped daily by the elite of this country and no one is going to do a fcuking thing about it.

Yep. This country is all about propping up the big guys at the expense of the little people. Its always been the same, not just since the collapse. Its just we all had little distractions like money and jobs to divert our attention before.

I fcuking despise this atitude of entitlement, even in the face of gross misconduct. These people have no shame or dignity, they will do almost anything to put alittle more lining on their pockets.

It would be nice to think that these bástards would do jail time or at the very least be so heavily penalised that they live like paupers for the rest of their days. It would also be nice if gombeen politicians stopped being re-elected at every election. Sadly, none of it will happen. At some point in the distant future, we'll make a recovery and then start down the same reckless path again.

He should be stripped of all his inflated pension / salary, stripped of any assets gained by his incompetence and forced to work 19 hours a week for standard dole.

Drum should go to jail and get assraped by a burly, well endowed man with a lot of back hair, called Conswalso for a decade or two. The only distress caused there will be the mental image in the minds of whoever reads this post.

and then, when they read it a second time, they'll think, "actually, the c*nt would deserve it".

He isn't a criminal as he hasn't been convicted and I presume he is living on his wifes income as he happened to sign all his properties into her name.

Is he sueing Charlie Bird too for door stepping him? I could have forgiven him
if he had tried to catch Charlies head in the door.

Why do I bother reading posts on this forum ??

I sincerely believe this forum is populated by RTE/"news"talk hacks - as witnessed by the recent " passports fiasco" pay-my-mortgage-for-a-month please-pay-me-for-this-story when the country was grinding to a halt because nobody could skip over to Glasgow for their best mates wedding. They of course are driven by the FFailed party "test the waters before coming out with the next fumble" economic <i'm ashamed to call this> policy </i'm ashamed to call this>

So honourable to transfer all his wealth to his beloved wife - enjoy your extended holiday in the Sun , Sir, while the rest of the country picks up the tab for 25 billion created by such an honourable man, and sure sue us for stress, just to increase the tab and as a little thank you
