Nope, just tap once to focus and then tap again to shoot.

these are really the only two worthwhile shots i've taken with the phone, i don't take photos with my phone when i have a 21megapixel dslr in my hands.

Thought it might be a nice idea to see photos taken with iPhone 4's etc.

No editing allowed just the pic as it was when taken.
Here's a friend of mine examining my new iPhone 4.

Here's a team photo taken with my Brothers Iphone 4. Serious camera. Can't wait for mine. The quality is even a little better than this. I just took it from one he uploaded to Facebook so quality here not as good as it could be but you should get the idea.

I found my N900 better and the iPhone can be grainy and not as impressive as I'd expected. Pictures taken in full sunlight seem to be a bit better though.

What's the easiest way to take a pic and put on here. No computer. Just using the iPhone 4 ?

    Sunset in Calete de Fuste:

    picture.php?albumid=417&pictureid=7080

    picture.php?albumid=417&pictureid=7079

The boards album resizing really takes away from them but I'm too lazy to go setting up an image hosting account for the two (non facebook) photos a year I need to put up.

not bad for quick snapping. Quality is still not there. but its just a phone after all.

Miniaturisations reduces quality significantly. I find that manufactures of the phones made “megapixels” term meaningless when comes to phones. Sure there are evident improvements from 3GS 3MP to Iphone 4 5MP. But when i compare pictures taken with my very old Leica 3MP to Iphone 5Mp, Iphone pictures of the same subject are grainy and cheap looking compared to Leica 3MP. Or in other words I had no problem enlarging and developing picture taken with Leica while doing same with Iphone picture results in rubbish quality.

I guess they are lying to us when comes to specs and quality of the cameras on the phones .

For me it's all about the lens, and Apple are quite a bit behind as yet.
I've seen much better quality in some of the Nokias and Samsungs.

I went to the Japanese Gardens in Kildare on Sunday, my camera died, but the iPhone 4 was actually amazing! Check em out http://www.flickr.com/photos/n_linnane/sets/72157624732509456/with/4895084609/

I was using the "Camera+" app instead of the default as it lets you use the volume buttoms as a physical shutter, great for keeping it steady

I've camera plus pro app. What does the volume rocker allow you to do? I tried pressing it but all it did was show the ringer volume!

Are you sure it's camera + by tap tap and It's been removed from the app store now anyway.

There was an easter egg once you downloaded, you had to put in a certain code to the browser on safari & it then allowed you to use the volume buttons to take the picture

    The middle of Galway City!

I showed his pic to a mate of mine who's an entomologist and he said that it's nothing unusual for Ireland.

    Biggest I've ever seen.

    Here he is after being captured;

PS I didn't kill him. He was released to reek havoc on the flys in the garden.

A Leica versus a cameraphone? Hardly like for like?
Anyone who has seen the quality of the photo and video on my iPhone so far is stunned by the quality of them.

They're not lying about the megapixels, it's just that megapixels are almost meaningless when it comes to cameras in terms of describing quality. The sensor is too small on phones to ever compete with proper point-and-shoot cameras, and also the lens quality is compromised, being tiny is one reason.
Your Lecia 3 megapixel sensor is probably 10 times the size of the sensor in your iPhone.
Phones are getting better as the sensor quality relative to it's size improves, but a phone will never be as good as a Point-and-Shoot. They'll be good enough to satsify many people though, same as anything really. Most people aren't really that fussy.
