From using a 32GB N900, I definitely will get use out of the 32GB..16GB will mean that I've no room for apps after I put on all the music I want to listen to!

    Estimated Shipping: 20 Aug, 2010
    Estimated Delivery: 24 Aug, 2010

hmmm... fair bit of a wait. Worth it for the sim-free though. Much higher resale value in 12mts when the iPhone 5 comes out ;)

700 quid for a phone is nuts! I have the 3Gs but there's no way I'd pay 700 quid for the 4G.

Think I'll wait for the 5G and see if there's anything decent on that.

The don't change price points, they just move the older phones down the line.

it will be the same price, so whats not an upgrade to you may be an upgrade to others.

ie. next year when you post ive paid 700 for an iPhone 5 people will say i will never pay 700e for a phone i'll wait for the 6.

people with the 4 will probably wait for the 6 to upgrade and people still on a 3Gs next year will upgrade to the 5, thats the way i see it.

Ah yeah I know that, what I meant was that if there were significant improvements/additions on the 5G I'd look at getting it......but on contract so I wouldn't pay full whack. Couldn't justify that amount for a phone.

    I'm generally right though.

The price of the iphones have completely gotten out of control - i agree that 700 lids is crazy to pay for a phone - just because its off contract. I know all abotu teh apple-tax - payment for no contract etc. - but you can buy a normal phone and laptop for 700 bills.

its just crazy how expensive they are. I picked up a 1st gen iphone in newry jsut before the iphone 3g came out for about 160 pounds.. which is enough to plonk down on a phone imo.

I know its a great phone (reception issues aside) but worth €600 min - no way its worth it.

oh and by the way - the contacts o2 are offering are crap value too.

    Ok, gotcha.

I have to admit, I am in the same boat. I would like the iPhone 4, but I just can't justify the price. My trusty N900 will do me for now.

Until I can convince my employer that I need an iPhone, that is. :D

The price is also a kicker for me.. I got my iPhone 2G (8GB model) for less than half that in the US on launch.

And I know it's not for everyone.. but the iPad is a €100 less. I know it doesn't make calls and it's not as portable but in comparison, the price does seem excessive for the iPhone4.

As I said earlier, my iPad was definitely my priority purchase out of the 2 anyways. That's just me personally!

Tbh, I'd rather get the iPad than pay that amount for the iP4. Does the iPad have Skype?

Thank you for placing your order with the Apple Store.

We are eager to ship your products to you as soon as possible, but we have encountered an authorisation issue with the credit card you have provided.

Your credit company has requested more detail about your order before they will authorise Apple to debit your card.

Please contact your bank at your earliest convenience and advise them of your order.

We will continue to try to obtain an authorisation for your order for the next 2 consecutive working days. If this should be unsuccessful, your order will be cancelled automatically and we will advise you of the cancellation by e-mail.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Kind regards,
    The Apple Store

ffs, bought 4 or 5 items from the Apple Store over the last 12 months with this card. It just had to happen on iPhone 4 day ffs

A HD version isn't available but yeah, you can get the iPhone version and scale it up and it works perfectly.

I'd say a HD version will be released in a matter of time.

Totally agree. More than happy with my unlocked 3GS on Vodafone simply plan. Iphone 4 just didn't have enough new features. Having said that I'll get a better price for my 3GS now than next year. That would be my only reason for upgrading now.

Agreed..it's a bit pricey. But it's paid for now, and I'll be selling my N900 which should recoup about half of the price of it at least.

Are you sure? Seems too good to be true.

Are those units monthly? i.e. "650 minutes/1300 free texts to any newwork /2 gb data and 150 free minutes to any land line phone" per month? Some deal if it's what you say it is.

Its not 650mins and 1300 texts. I presume you have 650 flex units.

1 Flex unit is 1min or 2 texts or 500kb of data

Tempted by the better camera & flash + retina display, but the thing I'm holding out for is a 64GB model. My 32GB 3GS will do me for the time being.

Id say you will be waiting another year for that IF they do bring it out. I doubt they will unless the iPod Touch is updated to 128gb or something.

I see on the apple website one of the ads for the iphone 4 says "The Iphone 4 is here, Get fast, free delivery",wouldn't call three weeks fast delivery. I know the delivery time is a few days but the wait is 3 weeks so the ad would be miss leading if you didn't look at the 3weeks line. I really hope that now lots of people have iphone 4's the demand will start to drop and the delivery time might improve.
