I'm leaving the country is 6 weeks or so and having read the vegetarian thread, I really want to either capture or hunt an animal, kill it, cook it and eat it before I leave.. The problem is I don't have access to a gun and while I like fish, I'd rather eat a proper animal.

What would be easiest way to go about doing this? And i'm not going to eat a mouse either.
Become a Muslim and under religious rules apparently under their right to practise their religion, you can get away with some things sometimes with the disposal of animals.

I killed a lobster once. Pretty sure I'll never kill another animal ever again after that.

ask your local travellers, they go hunting rabbits and they are very good at it.

I just read this bit of info from wiki

"Queen Elizabeth I banned commoners from owning greyhounds during her reign leading to the creation of lurchers, a cross-breed of greyhound with another dog which evaded the ban.
In time poachers and hunters discovered breeding of certain breeds with sighthounds produced better dogs for the purpose. Many lurchers were bred in Ireland and Great Britain by the Irish Gypsies and travellers in the 17th century. They were used for poaching rabbits, hares and other small creatures.

The name lurcher is derived from the Romani language word lur, which means thief. The travellers considered the short-haired lurcher the most prized. The lurcher is rarely seen outside of Ireland or Great Britain, but is still common in its native lands"

I killed four crabs:( Was traumatised afterwards. Seriously OP, how long have you felt like this? Are you aware a lot of serial killers started out by killing animals?

Sodomize a neighbours dog to death and eat the carcass. Simple.

    Just leave the country.

You will need some talcum powder and a rock.
Head into the woods or meadow and look for a rabbit hole , you will be able to tell it's a rabbit hole because it will say Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit on the postbox.

Once you have assertained that it is in fact a rabbit hole you take the rock and place it at the entrance to the rabbit hole and cover the rock with talcum powder.

Once you have slipped away to a safe distance , you just sit and wait , eventually Mr or Mrs Rabbit or maybe one of their many offspring will have to leave the hole for a piss or a sh!te as they keep their little homes clean and don't have indoor plumbing as they are rabbits, this will necessitate them leaving the hole .

As they are very careful creatures and are always wary of Mr. Fox the first thing they will do is come to the entrance and stick their little nose in the air to get a sniff of their surroundings and to detect if Mr.Fox is around.

Well what they won't know s that you have been to visit and have palced a talcumed rock on their doorstep. One big sniff of talcum and hey presto it will cause the rabbit to sneeze and bang it's head off the rock thus knocking it unconcious and easy for you to catch.

Now killing the rabbit is up to you . I tend to get overcome with guilt and just stay with them until they regain conciousness and return them to their family.

    Happy hunting

If you have any Polish friends call over to them, they are usually killing swans in their back garden, they might let you help out

That's exactly why i recommended punchin a cow. Wasted a fair bit of time punchin cows in the first farm. Seems like fun.

Why not get the wellies on and head for the hills, there are plenty of sheep a grazing... There may be some farmers out there who are willing to provide you with some livestock, probably depends on how much you are willing to pay. Failing that why not go down to the abattoir and see if you can make some contacts there? It should be a good day out for you.

The rabbit idea isn't half bad.. Read a thread on another site before where a guy raised his own pet rabbits to eat them after.

Was it in the mental health thread?

well doesnt have to be a bear but i find it hard to advise someone who wants to kill something to go out and break the neck of something 20 times smaller than him, i was thinking more a human :)

Not necessarily though, the OP was reading vegetarian threads and may have decided not to subscribe to factory farmed meat. Maybe deciding that the only meat to be eaten is that which is caught, produced by self. Some people think that way before they become vegetarian, I did ;).

Hmm.. I'm definitely thinking it could end up being a rabbit. I'll take a wonder out to the fields some day and hopefully I'll find one that has already passed. And if I don't, I try the rock and talcum powder trick.

Failing that, off to the pet shop with me.. Dog, cat or rabbit?

How about wild boar, now that would be impressive and they fight back! they have been illegally re introduced to this country!
