For Sale: ASE Utra AU Jet-Z Compact Fullbore Moderator

This one (from the manufacturers, shown on a T3): http://aseutra.fi/english/index.html

    COMPACT_T3_TACTICAL-.jpg

This is the actual moddy for sale here:
    ASEUtraJetZMod.jpg

A wee bit of history behind this one: This moddy was sold by our good chum ezridax to my goodself, mr. dCorbus. Accordingly, it's pretty much a given it was looked after before I got it. Since I got it (back around Jan. this year), I have used it the sum total of once - 3 shots, for the sh1t and giggles on the ol' TRG.

The moddy is kept in the box it came in, with the paperwork, and is about as unused a pre-owned moddy can be.

Oh yeah, and it's threaded M18x1 apparently (thanks johngalway for reminding me about that bit!)

Reason for sale: Whilst I have one of the Mystic & Magical S's on my licence (of course), as many of you know I shoot mainly F/TR, where the moddy cannot be used. I've have pretty much no need for a moddy (at present - of course, I'll have a massive need for one in 2.5years time!), so I'm semi-reluctantly letting this go to part-fund a pending project.

New, I believe this mod would cost €380 - Bearing in mind the good condition and care and lack-of-use this has had, I will "reluctantly" sell for €325 ONO.
(Postage or Collect to be agreed).

    Thanks,

    dC

Technically it's third hand so I'll star the ball rolling at €250 ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,676 ✭✭✭kay 9

    Wish I had the 325!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭dCorbus

    Technically it's third hand

    Technically - true:(
    Technically - irrelevant:rolleyes:

    :D

As I explained, I've had her on the rifle the once on the range - 3 rounds through her since i got it. And the previous owner rarely used it - It's always been on a rifle which really only shoots F/TR, i.e. it's never been dragged backwards through a hedge, dropped into a cowpat, or gone anywhere other than from it's box to the range and back into the box.

Thanks for the offer BELOWaverageIQ, but cannot let her go for €250.
Frankly, at €325 it's a bit of a steal. So €325 it has to be, OVNO.

Anyone genuinely interested, please PM me - Don't want the hassle of an online dutch-auction for everyones sake.;)

    Thanks, dC.

Why are replies Vanishing from this thread ?, that's twice now !
Below is an exerpt from an email I recieved, yet no post, very strange an I do believe what was posted was a relevant point.

Here is the message that has just been posted:
    ***************
Most leinster dealers will sell you a new ASE mod for around 300 euro so why pay so much for any second hand mod ?
    There is no avalaibility issue?
200 euro would seem like a fair price for a used mod otherwise contact DMA.:D

Thanks, but the post was deleted by the mods (i presume) because AFAIK it's a breach of the ol' For Sale charter (re: Thread Spoiling).

Frankly, if the poster can get a NEW ASE Utra Jet-Z Compact Mod for €300 (?), and a barely-used second-hand one for €200, he should f**k off there and buy one. And while he's at it, tell us all where such deals are to be had.

But other than that, this forum has gone to sh1t with this amount of thread spoiling. No worries BELOWaverageIQ - I appreciated your PM's on this and they are duly noted.

But this has gone beyond a joke TBH.

I'll leave up the last two comments as they highlight the problem, but with mod hat on folks, the charter expressly prohibits thread spoiling and infractions have already been handed out.

    dcorbus,
I would like to make you an offer of 200 euro for your slightly used ASE mod.My offer is based on the fact that i can buy a similiar new mod for 300 euro from Wicklow dealer ( DMA = David moore )
I think 200 euro and 1 infraction is all I can afford.
    Please consider my offer.

Thanks for all the information and consumer reports on general pricing of moddy's around the countryside. I'm most grateful for the unsolicited information and now feel somewhat better informed. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Now if we've all quite finished giving our tuppence worth, I'd like to point out a couple of bits of slightly pertinent information:

Any dealer selling an ASE Utra Jet-Z Compact moderator for €300 new, should be praised from the heights and a path beaten swiftly to his door. If you can get a new one for €300 - BUY IT - That's a steal and the deal of the year.
Just for everyone's information and delectation (seeing as this thread has been well and truly derailed from the purpose which I posted it), I've gone off and done some research on this.
Jacksons are the sole agents for ASE Utra in the UK and Ireland - their published RRP for the JetZ Compact is UK£326 (about €390) and this one was bought in Stakelums for €379 about 1.5 - 2 years ago (the price tag is still on the box!). So if dealers are selling them for €300-325 new, something is up! Either they're selling for less than cost - or we really really have been ridden for the last couple of years by the good ol' RFD's!!

Or it could be the ASE Utra Northstar mod which is a good bit cheaper?

So lad's, if you want a really sweet deal on a brand new mod, get yourselves down to Paul O'Halloran and / or David Moore and get yourselves the deal-of-the-year. Just make sure you're comparing apples and apples.

    Just a thought or two.

Other than that, I'd recommend reading my earlier posts above.

    @ 50cal:

What makes you think I'll consider favourably your offer of €200 when:
    a. you've already made an attempt to thread-spoil to drive down the price,
    b. i've already been offered €250 which I politely declined, and
    c. I've already made perfectly clear this is not a "fire sale" and I'm not going to give this away for anything less than a reasonable offer close to my asking price.

    And BTW which part of:
Anyone genuinely interested, please PM me - Don't want the hassle of an online dutch-auction for everyones sake

    don't you understand?

So, as of now, this item is now off the market to timewasters.

If anyone is genuinely interested in making a reasonable offer, then PM me. Otherwise, get yourselves down to Paul O'Halloran! (He's a sound man by all accounts - and I'd rather he got your business):D

Hey all, after a lot of fluting around, this item is still for sale, or rather, back on the market:(.

Just to clarify a couple of points:

    1. Absolutely, No International Sales (it's not worth the effort / paperwork / risk) - i.e. You must be within the Republic of Ireland and be a licenced FAC holder - and before any one else asks, no, I will not ship this to a licenced third party / firearms dealer in another jurisdiction. This is a private sale and not dCorbus' International Firearms Dealership.
    2. Any purchaser will have to have a magical and wonderful "S" on their licence to purchase this item (I'm not taking any risks playing fast and loose with the reg's on this one).
    3. This item is available in the shops new and boxed for €400 - €450. Please don't thread-spoil or post anything here stating you can get it for €250, €300, €350, whatever from such-and-such a place. I've rung around to get a replacement value for this and the €400-450 ballpark is what I've been quoted around the country for this moderator.
    4. Whilst this item is not new (but has been rarely used and is still boxed in perfect condition), I would like reasonable offers which match in some way shape or form it's actual value. I've been offered €250 a couple times now at this stage - €250 is waaayyyy too low, sorry.
    4. I was looking for €325 for this (i.e. about €125 cheaper than a brand new one). I'd still like to sell it for €325, but as I've recieved no reasonable offers or those offers at my asking price where not within the jurisdiction, I'm reducing this further to sell.

To reiterate, I have a genuine reason for this sale - I'm looking to re-invest the cash into some improvements to my F/TR set-up.

The new reduced price is €295 ONO.

For anyone interested and who want's to view this item before purchase, I can arrange an inspection at Midlands any given weekend or possibly midweek should that suit better.

So, come on, lads - Make me an offer by PM.
    Thanks,

    dC

Hey poulo6.5, the overall length of the moderator is 7 inches.
When fitted to the rifle, it adds only 6 inches to the overall length of the rifle. It's pretty neat and tidy.

Hope that's of some help to you. Thanks.
