I will be staying at the marriot as part of the 4 night silver package
    the hotel looks brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

It does look great. I can't judge from last year, but for 25 in The Hyatt in Houston, there was a great atmosphere in the hotel when all package holders were in the same hotel. I still remember the midnight Wooooos. :)

I'm flying out on the thursday and am torn between whether to stay in Atlanta or by the airport on that evening. The motel Super 8 looks like best bet at moment as it's not overly far from the Mariott for Friday check in and is affordable

I have reserved The Omni at the CNN center. I was there for the Royal Rumble and this hotel is the nearest of the arena and the Stadium, and it´s a top hotel. You can even walk from inside the Hotel to Phillips arena, and it has a good food court downstairs. Maybe it´s a but pricey but it denifitely worths it.

Walking from inside to the Phillips arena sounds great. I'd stay there just for that.

yeah i was thinking about the omni as well although i'm staying for 7 nights so would be quite expensive. might stay at a cheaper hotel for the first few days and then switch to the omni

I keep getting good deal/prices on the sheraton downtown atlanta - is there anyone staying there ?

I'm trying to get the WESTIN or MARRIOT though because i know fans will definitely be staying there...:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

You're really better off trying to stay at a package hotel If you can. Guaranteed to meet fans + the atmosphere will be great.

    Hey,

I just wondering if anyone has booked the OMNI HOTEL CNN CENTER or if anyone is staying there.

I'm guessing there probably will be since its so close to the gerogia dome and philips arena and stuff.

Have you checked out the Westin at all Brian?

Have you checked out the Westin at all Brian?

I have had a look around alright. The WESTIN is at almost 400 USD per room per night - MARRIOTT 239 USD per night - LEOWS HOTEL ( anyone heard of that one ? ) about 320 usd - and at the moment the Omni seems the best price.

I'm going to hang on another little while anyway before i choose which one.

Curious to know where others are staying like which hotels....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

Well you know Platinum packagers will be in the Westin, so you're guaranteed a good meet up. Keep an eye on it anyway.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 61 ✭✭brianw25

Got a nice price on a hotel website for the Marriot Marquis so more than likely going to book that in the next week or two.

Might do 4 nights in the MARRIOT and one night ( monday) in the OMNI for raw.

Anyone else that's doing things seperate book hotel or flights yet ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

Did you book your hotels yet Brian? If you haven't, you should check out the Westin, stay with the cool peeps.

hey guys where else is everyone staying in Atlanta, particularly those of you not going on packages, is the best bet staying in Downtown Atlanta as from what I've read on the forum people have had problems with taxi's ripping them off etc at past mania, with the bunch I'm going with I doubt they would travel over the MARTA although I'm keen to

Never get why people are so anti public transport. I've worked out if I use the MARTA I'll save at least $50 over the course of the week, thats $50 much better spent on a t-shirt or 2

right going with the motel 6 on thursday night. cheap and good reviews. Only problem is check out there is 11am with check in at the mariott 4pm and i don't fancy lugging a case for 4 hours round atlanta.

Does anyone know if hotel offers a bag drop or if Package holders are given a different check in time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 526 ✭✭✭Initium

As many of you know I reserved Omni Hotel at the CNN, I reserved from friday until tuesday althought I'm arriving on thursday, but hotel us fully booked for that night due to some convention... :-( If you're staying at any hotel in this área you won't need any car or public transport since you can walk to the Georgia Dome, Aquarium, world of coca cola, and even walk to the Phillips arena directly from inside the hotel.

think the biggest transport issue is going from the airport to the hotel. everything else is walking distance

Exactly. I was there for this year's Royal Rumble and I can't remember how much it was the taxi from the airport but I guess it was cheap because if not, I'll remember it! LOL

well the mariotts site gives the following info. As all hotels are in the same general area it sounds about right

    Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport - ATL
    • Hotel direction: 12 mile(s) N
    • Driving Directions: North on I-75/85 take Exit 248C (Andrew Young International Blvd). Turn left on Andrew Young International Blvd. then right on Peachtree Center Ave. Hotel is 2 blocks on the right. // South on I-75/85 take Exit 249A (Courtland St). Go to 3rd light. Turn right on Andrew Young International Blvd. Go 1 block to Peachtree Center Ave. Turn right. Hotel is 2 blocks on the right.
This hotel does not provide shuttle service.
    • Alternate transportation: A-National Limousine Service (sedans); fee: 55 USD (one way) ;scheduled
    • Bus service, fee: 16.50 USD (one way)
    • Subway service, fee: 2.25 USD (one way)
    • Estimated taxi fare: 25.00 USD (one way
Also the airport gives this site for info

Still racking my brain which hotel.... the Omni Hotel looks nice but really expensive... Thinking of maybe another one in downtown if they are still walking distance? Maybe holiday inn...

I used google maps from Omni Hotel to George Dome and it seems to take you all round the houses to get there! I'm guessing there is probably a short cut to just walk it as it looks really close on a map.

I'll be staying in the Marriott with Steveharley the 3 days before & night after the nights I'm booked into the Westin Peachtree. So this way I can experience both package hotels. :)

I cant be certain. It was not too expensive. as going cheap on www.americanholidays.ie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭killyourtv

138 euro per night at Westin Peachtree
108 euro per night at Marriott

    Hmm, can't afford those prices.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

They're pretty reasonable. They are local hotels & will have big WWE crowds at both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭killyourtv

You may be right, I can't even remember what I paid for the Sheraton in Phoenix last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭Kane-N-Nite

Me neither, but the Sheraton was great.
As was the Hyatt in Houston, I've had some great Mania hotels.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭The Fly

Well I booked my Delta flights today so am definitely going now :)

Ended up booking the Omni hotel too... I'll need another one for Thursday night tho. It was pricey but want the convenience so ended up just paying it.

Now just got to book Raw and Axxess.... I'm thinking of maybe missing HOF this time but not 100% sure.

£511 direct flights Thursday to Tuesday... they were something crazy like £900 on the Friday! Have been monitoring the flights for a couple of weeks and last night was cheapest i've seen direct from Manchester recently so I just went for it. There are cheaper options if going indirect tho.

And yeah Cheers Kane does look nice, glad I can properly start counting down now I know I'm going :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭killyourtv

I may have to look into that. I'd like to fly direct from Manchester to Atlanta, and Delta were one of the airlines I was gonna take a look at.

I still haven't checked since I checked those 2 a week or so ago. I really ought to.

This probably won't apply to anyone because of the dates, but the Westin Peachtree Plaza (Platinum package hotel,) has a deal for the Friday and Saturday night, where it is only $125 per night.

The deal expires soon (a few days,) and is located under the "deals" page on the hotel website. Just look for the $85 a night deal (the $85 nights are for different dates, and the Mania Fri/Sat is the $125 rate.) It's a great deal, except requires you to switch hotels the day of Mania, or book the more expensive Sunday night at their hotel as well.)

Okay I need to stop messing about now and actually get on with this.

Anyone got a short list of possible hotels to stay at, such as the ones you guys are staying at, or ones you know others are staying at.

Most hotels around Downtown have sold out but they still list a few on http://www.booking.com/ The Westin Peachtree still has rooms available on there website.

tried contacting the mariott as i'll be there early on the fri before the 3 check in to see if they offered a bag drop but got an automated e-mail asdking for my reference which naturally i don't have. can anyone recommend anything i don't want to spend 4 hrs lugging my bag round atlanta when i could be doing something

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭The Fly

I'm in the same boat with the bags situation on the Friday but at Omni hotel... can't see there being a problem tho as most hotels have a baggage area.

Look forward to talking to you and maybe meeting up any way to talk wrestling. So anyone who see this post and looking for a little help with your expense for a hotel please get back to me here or at my email address. PGATORFACE@AOL.COM
