Skippy's on the loose again! And who would have thought he'd come to Ireland?

Gardai have been hunting the Kangaroo for hours now. Tired and hungry the Chief Superintendent has ordered extra lunch for the force, demanding "More Soup Y'all".

Oh jesus did I just say that?

There wasn't any more to read. :(

Probably a pet that escaped. Like those black cat sightings on the moors in England that were popular in 1980's mystery magazines.

It's a weird one that, Ballinabrackey apparently considers itself in Meath but also part of Kinnegad in Westmeath.

Lots of towns are in two counties.

I know kangaroos in oz are seen as pests now that their population has boomed but would be good to have a small population here!

Im fascinated by this talk of lambay island recently and its wallabies, would love to go over.

anywhere south and east of the river in Kinnegad is Meath, the topaz petrol station on the Dublin side is Meath. The M6 motorway around Kinnegad is almost on Offaly from Tyrellspass to near the Cement factory, it then switches to being close to the Meath-Westmeath border.

privately owned by some secretive family. no idea why they have wallabies wandering around but landing is a no no unless invited seemingly.

You shouldn't stand corrected for your comment - the town of Kinnegad is mentioned and used only as a postal address. Ballinabrackey is actually just a townsland in Co. Meath. Not West Meath, not Offaly and not Kildare.

Some intresting facts about our furry marsupial friends.

The largest of the kangaroo family is the Red Kangaroo, who can grow up to 6 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds. When the buck comes leaping, it can jump up to 25 feet in length or 10 feet in height. Couple those jumps with a top speed of almost 40 miles per hour and this animal is a force to be reckoned with.

It’s true that kangaroos cannot move backwards, which they must find rather inconvenient when they jump beyond somewhere. They also can’t move their back feet independently on land, but when swimming, they are able to kick one foot at a time.

I can't wait for the TV3 documentary on this.

Rabid Kangaroo stalks the midlands , believed to be a member of a Dublin gangland criminal gang. It was brought into distract our already overstreched Garda resourses so that a large shipment of drugs can be brought into Dublin on a super yacht.
