Some do floor presses. I have gymnastic rings and do dips instead, I also made a dip station and can do them between chairs. I do inclined pushups too on my stairs, i.e. my hands down on the lower ground and feet up on the stairs.

    Hi Login1

If you are living in Dublin and have someone who can collect it for you I have a bench in my garage similar to the pic below that you are welcome to. It's in pretty good nick and yours if you want it. I live off the Malahide Rd. PM me if it is any use and I will give you further details.

If you have two flat chairs that don't have arms like this for example

you can put them facing each other, sit on one backwards/AC Slater style/facing the back of it and lean back onto the other. You will need to leave a gap depending on how tall you are so your head doesnt hit the back of the other chair. I've done it, it's grand. Hope you can picture it...

Floor presses with the weight bar resting on stacked books or magazines.

    Don't forget about over-head presses.

Our coffeetable makes a pretty solid bench.

    what about a gym ball?

Bbuilder, im very tempted to call next in line, but i think the missus would kill me she comes home and the coffee table is gone, with a bench in its place...

Very kind of you to offer though, fair play

    Hi ragg

LOL, I would imagine the WAF on a weights bench in the middle of your sitting room would be around zero alright :D and unfortunately there is already a next in line ready to take if it login1 doesn't want it.

It's been sitting in my garage for a while now now as I prefer working out in the gym. Too easy to cry off at home :o

Sorry to hijack :o but it's a similar topic.....

I'm looking for a simple bench perhaps like this one that will go flat and have a few incline positions.

I go to the gym generally once or twice a week mainly to use free-weights and a couple of machines and I'm considering not renewing my membership. I might be able to get a free set of weights from someone and if so, a home bench might suit better. I only use light weights for some physio for back pain (seems to be the only thing that relieves it) and I'm fairly small (about 55kg -female) so I think I can get away with a less sturdy bench...

Any ideas if the above bench would be ok or any suggestions would be really helpful, thanks in advance (and sorry again OP for hijacking a little bit)...

this will be able to hold a barbell should the set of weights you get include one
