Well we might as well have a thread dedicated to the LOI. There is money to be had here on this!

Have a euro this weekend on:

League of Ireland Premier Matches St Patrick's Athletic v Sporting Fingal
    25-07-2010 15:00
    Win-Draw-Win
    St Patrick's Athletic @ 2.00
League of Ireland Division 1 Matches Waterford United v Longford Town
    23-07-2010 19:45
    Win-Draw-Win
    Waterford United @ 1.53
League of Ireland Premier Matches Drogheda United v Sligo Rovers
    23-07-2010 19:45
    Over/Under 2.5 Goals
    Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.25

    Potential returns: €6.90

Pats against Fingal is great value at evens imo. Fingal are preoccupied with the Europa League and the game on Sunday will be their third game in six days.

    As a result of that,

I'm going to put 50c on:

League of Ireland Premier Matches St Patrick's Athletic v Sporting Fingal
    25-07-2010 15:00
    Handicap Betting
    St Patrick's Athletic (-1.0) @ 4.50

dont really bet on loi for obvious reasons but whats the best site for betting previews, starting line ups, injurys etc etc..

if i get some more info on the pats game i might go for the win alright.
"it will be their 3rd game in 6 days",,im assuming it wasnt the same starting lineup,i.e used their bench...?
    thanks

Good idea with the LOI thread, I dont bet on it everyweek because it can be very frustrating but the odd week it can come off, the guy in the Racing Post usually has a smallish column on LOI bets every Friday in the football section at the back. Extratime.ie is a good site for keeping up to date on "happenings" in the league!

its probably 1 of the most toughest leagues to predict, therefore trying to make a profit on it is v.hard..im not saying you cant pick out 1 game in a particular week but if you were to predict every game you wouldnt stand a chance no matter how knowledgeable you are about the league.
take gavins log as an example.

on the other hand im still up a fortune from the league due to kodbox last year, but this is due to betting big on 3 or 4 games per season not every week...

this week i see value in pats at evens against sporting fingal,
can any1 talk me out of not going big on them.??
    thanks

As I said in my own thread I wouldn't be betting on teams in Europe, definitely not Shams anyway, they'll still be on holiday in Isreal and dreaming of beating Juve imo.

Bohs is good, can see Fenlon pumping them up for it so Bohs -1 looks decent.

Have a look at Pat Fenlon's managerial record in the LOI. Let me know if you see any pattern among the randomness.

Bohs -1 at Evens and Sligo to beat Drogs 11/10 are the bets for me tonight.

    Went with:

    Drogs v Sligo Draw
    Cork
    Shels
    Shamrock Rovers

€10 at 13/1 with PP, totally forgot about Rovers playing Juve next week though.....so not that hopeful now as he'll probably rest key players etc.

Bohs on the handicap is the bet of the weekend in the league.

Rovers' game on Monday is postponed.

Coughlan, stop talking out of your hole. Just because you don't do great in the LoI doesn't mean that everyone else does.

you didnt read the post correctly,i said it was hard to make a profit if you bet every week, but there is value to be had in particluar weeks,it is these games that are exploited.

i thought myself and telecaster were having an appropriate disagreement which is common in a gambling forum, there were no harsh words said to 1another and we both had different point of views..

there was no need to say what you said about me regarding my point of view,it is obviously not welcome,i never feel i need to say a bad word about someone else no matter how bad the disagrement is, i only hope in the future you can do the same..
    regards

Really need Pats to win today, have them in a tidy treble with Shels & Waterford.Hopefully Fingal will be out on their backs after their admirable showing during the week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

3 games that look decent value for me.

bohs to beat Pats at home Evs

Sligo to beat Dundalk at home 5/6

Limerick to beat Shels in Tolka 11/5

The top 2 speak for themselves. Think Limerick with Kavanagh and O'Flynn up front(will wait till kick off to confirm) will cause Shels loads of problems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,101 ✭✭✭AidySevenfold

    Gone for
    Ucd
    Sligo
    Shels
    Waterford.

    Think I'm going for

    Limerick
    Pats
    Cork City
    Sligo Rvrs

    €20 returns €95

tempted to add in Derry, returns would be €150

Fingal should be good for the win too vs a weakened Galway side. Fingal have Gary O'Neil back who really makes the difference. Fingal to win are evens. Going to have some of that myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,555 ✭✭✭Gillington

Just gone for Pats -1 on the Asian myself, should have far too much for Drogheda

    Pats 2 up now :)

    Limerick losing though.

    Thoughts on this matchday folks?

    Fri - 13/08/10
    Bohemians vs Galway United
    Bray Wanderers vs St Pats
    Drogheda United vs Shamrock Rovers
    Sporting Fingal vs Dundalk

    Sat - 14/08/10
    Sligo Rovers vs UCD

Derry vs Cork in the 2nd Division the standout game there. Both in form atm.

Well it's the 1st Division.;) Having seen Cork play Shels down in Cork a few weeks back they're muck, add in that they have something like a 6 hour drive I'd be going for Derry to bounce back from their 3-2 loss to Mons.

Anyway my bets for this week that are in my log
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055948129

    Pats -1 @ 5/2 - 2.32pts
    Returns 8.19pts

    Drogs -v- Shams Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5 - 1pt
    Returns 2.2pts

Bohs, Pats, Derry, Limerick, Shams all to win @ 6/1 - 1pt
    Returns 7pts

    Think I'm gonna go for

    Limerick
    Rovers
    St. Pats
    Waterford

    Bout 3/1

    Any thoughts? Seems pretty straightforward

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

    near 8.5/1

As well as an accum on -
Limerick, Pats, Rovers, Pats and Braga @ 5/1

I(and many here who had money on LOI) was confident last week and that came in, fairly confident this week too.

Having seen Shels literally walk over all Waterford in the RSC last week I'd be wary of them away to Wexford.

Cant wait for the games this eve! Putting a few bob on the league makes it sooo much more interesting. . Come on Pats and Braga!
