Diet Boost

Hi, I have been following the Unislim Maximising diet since the last week in January and I have lost just over 2 stone which is great. I have been having problems lately with keep myself motivated and I just find my life is too busy sometimes to stick with the diet. Some weeks I will gain weight and it will take me another two weeks to get rid of it again. Its not the weight loss has slowed down its more than I am not sticking as rigidly to the plan and its tripping me up.

I am being made redundant at the end of next week so I am planning to get a short term gym membership and set up a few personal training sessions to try and kick my weight loss. I also really want to get properly fit, I am reasonably so but I really want to get to a much higher level of fitness. By November I would like to do some boot camp training and don't want to make a fool of myself.

Has anyone got any tips for reigning yourself in when temptation gets too much. I will always allow myself a treat day which doesn't affect my weight loss but I find picking at food is the worst.

    Hiya

Congratulations on your loss so far, its a great achievement. Isnt Unislim Maximising like a Low GI diet or is it similar to weightwatchers in that you count units for anything you want to eat?

I suppose the best way to regain interest is to make a goal list for yourself. Life does get in the way sometimes but its not an excuse to stand behind either. Have you lost some of your motivation now that you have lost so much weight? How much more do you want to lose? Do you think posting a food and exercise diary here would encourage you?

It is hard to stay motivated long term. Did you take any photos when you started - can yo look back on them and see how well you have done? Have a day out when you try on the smaller size clothes your now wearing?

I was allowing myself a treat day, but have tried to stop that - I found it was turning into a major binge day - so now I just try to have some little something nice late once a week instead.

Or try using something instead of food be the treat. A new pair of shoes/lipstick/even new knickers!

Just hang on in there. ... you have done brilliantly to have lost so much so far - you can do everything else if you want to!
