Feud you'd pay to see down the line.

This follows on from my comment in the Raw thread about Orton.

I want to know people's ideas on what feuds they'd do if they were WWE, or TNA for that matter, right now; whether it's a feud for a couple of weeks' time, or for months, even years down the line.

my big one for the future, hopefully in the next year or two, is Punk/Orton. considering where the two are at performance-wise, particularly in terms of their respective personas, i think it would potentially be one of the greatest rivalries ever, if done correctly.

it would also put them both over huge as two bona-fide main-event, crowd drawing main eventers IMO. every time i envision it i get goosebumps.

    do you agree?

your ideas on feuds that should be done....

Would you not say Orton is already there as a bona-fide main eventer?

My main problem is the utter lack of GOOD faces for people to feud with for the likes of CM Punk, Miz etc. Yes, we got Ray, Undertaker, Cena etc. but they are not suitable feuding targets imo (both due to age and status). CM vs. Miz with two excellent people cutting promos could do wonders; CM vs. Daniel B. (once back) is another example but at the moment I can't think of any "OMGZ" once honestly.

he is, but i probably should have clarified.

there's main-eventer, and then there's Cena, HHH, Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Michaels, etc level.

i believe Orton is ready for the next level, and a feud with Punk could help do that, while obviously elevating Punk at the same time.

Interesting feud idea. I think such a feud might actually elevate Punk more than Orton though. I think Punk is better on the mic and Orton as a face doesn't work for me, although he seems to be getting better reactions in recent weeks.

A long-term feud I had hoped for when Edge was a babyface was Edge vs Punk. The Rated R gimmick of Edge against the straight edge gimmick of Punk. I think that could have been brilliant with great promos and matches. Doesn't look likely any time soon however. Speaking of Edge, a proper feud with Christian is another I'd love to see though they would need to build Christian up more first.

I also get this feeling Sheamus vs Undertaker could end up being a possible Mania match next year as Sheamus is progressing nicely.

As for TNA, Joe vs RVD would be something I'd want to see. It might happen in the near future, i.e. a throw-away match on Impact.

However much i hate the Jiz, eventually a Jiz/Orton fued equallys serious money imho, espacially when Orton RKO's the fu*k out of him..

The one feud I really really really really want to see this year is Edge V Christian its has been teased and it would help Christian break into the main eventer league

    CM Punk V SCSA

I would love to see a slow build feud culminating in a match at Wrestlemania between The Undertaker and John Cena or The Undertaker and Triple H.

I feel these are the two big money fights left at this moment.

Edge vs The Miz, Randy Orton vs Jericho, Kane vs Big Show, Kofi vs Cody, Matt Hardy vs Christian, Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi, Edge vs Triple H.

Punk - Orton would be good from a promo perspective.

Punk - Kofi (depending on how PG they want to be, there's an obvious storyline hook) would be ace to watch bell to bell.

I'd love to see Swagger given a proper competitive feud but I'm not sure who the ideal partner would be. The Mysterio match, I think, showed that he's come on a great deal. Maybe christian? they did some very good work together in ECW.

Brian Danielson Vs Kurt Angle is the one I would love to see happen more than anything else.

Chris Jericho and AJ Styles would be nice also.

:D .. you never know, WWE could market it as a cure for insomnia

i'd also love Cena-Punk, but i'm so f*cking annoyed that they've given it away on TV and a throwaway PPV already.

one of the reasons i picked Orton-Punk is that it's very fresh.

Cena/Taker is the guaranteed moneymaker. and once again, as i've said before on these boards, i would love to see Cena break the streak at Wrestlemania.

if Stone Cold were to have one more match, which he has hinted at before, it must be against Punk.

    there's simply no other option.

    Goldust - Punk
    Goldust - Cena
    Goldust - Rey
    Goldust - taker
    Goldust - Edge
    Goldust - Christian
    Goldust - Khali.... ffs.

wow it's like only Gimmick watches TNA!

    RVD vs Angle
    RVD vs Joe
RVD vs Styles (a proper one)
    Pope vs Styles
    Wolfe vs Styles
    MMG vs Gen Me
Williams vs Wolfe could be really awesome
Angle vs Morgan (a proper one)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,007 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

    For TNA

    I'd like to see

    Kaz V Styles

    Wolfe V Anderson

Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore V MCMG

    RVD V Angle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 112 ✭✭Hyndsy85

    Swagger v Cena.
They had a match about 2 years back on Raw when Swagger was ECW Champ and it was bloodly good i thought. Just a straight up wrestling match. Showed me that Swagger has talent but he doesnt always show it.

Punk/Swagger v Regal. it would have to be a straight wrestling match

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Things is, I do not watch it too often. But I think anything I really want to see in WWE has been done already. Twice.

I think I would also like to see KENTA Vs CM Punk.

There are a few cracking MCMG matches with GenMe (Young Bucks) from PWG. No harm in seeing them again though.

Ive not seen a Bucks Vs Briscoes effort at all. Can only be a good thing.

I would also like to see Danielson take on Punk. They had a feud in FIP, but I cannot really justify buying anymore DVDs these days, much less a promotion I am not particularly fond of.

Nah, just that we know TNA will somehow find a way to give up every feud worth watching on free TV, or bungle the ones they do for PPV.*

    *Angle-Anderson excluded.

Dreaming out loud, I'd give my life savings and my favourite nut for a Dragon Gate invasion of the X Division and a subsequent feud. Even though TNA would balls it up eventually the matches would be mint, and it'd be somewhat fresh instead of rehashing the nWo, ECW etc

Punk/Orton and HHH/Drew for me have massive potential. The latter especially, the chosen one versus the SOB famous for nepotism :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

If Punk was given free creative reign, i'd kill to hear him cut promos on Triple H. Also the Miz. If he can tear Cena a new corn-shoot he could have some fantastically choice words for the game.

It won't happen though, only Triple H is allowed to make fun of other people without any comeback :( Shut up Lillian, ya horse face!

    he's not. simple as that.

he doesn't draw on his own like the rest i mentioned can.

he can perform, but the next level is to draw money.
    HBK wrote: »

because as well as being able to perform, he gets the best reaction of anyone on the roster, bar none.

When Cena is in the ring with someone that can wrestle, he can put on a great match. The Undertaker can wrestle. I want to see this feud more than any. Also can you imagine the atmosphere. Two of the biggest fan favourits going one on one at Wrestlemania. Cena also gets a lot of boos from some of the fans so can you imagine the reaction of these Cena haters if they felt that Takers Wrestlemania streak was in jeopardy to the man they despise the most. This feud writes itself, it would be brilliant especially as the WWE up their game coming up to Wrestlemania it could be gripping TV.

As soon as I saw the thread, I thought Punk/Orton. I'd love to see a proper feud between the two (I don't count what happened in 2008 as a proper feud).

    Orton/Jericho
    Cena/Taker
    Cena/Christian (Heel)
    Cena/Swagger
Punk/Show (based off what happened last week, this looks a given now. Won't be the most exciting matches but I'm sure the segments will be good fun).
    Kaval/Mysterio

    Sheamus v Rey
    Kaval v Rey

I agree with most feuds up there but i gotta say from a wrestling point of view and santino and kurt angle feud would be good if santino drops with current gimmick it would be a classic match !

Knew I should've kept it to meself. They'd also make a savage tag team actually.

I'd be keen on Bourne/Kurt Angle myself. Reckon Angle would work a similar match to those he did with Rey (amongst his best WWE outings for my tastes).

But Bourne/Devitt would be swell also.

An honest to goodness Punk/Cena feud could be something special, though they have twice established Punk's way inferior.

I'd love to see Bryan Danielson/Big Show in a serious feud. I reckon given a free reign, ol' Daniel Bryan would be able to incoporate some interesting stuff, and Show would be a willing opponent.

One of the ones ROH missed out on was Danielson/Abyss back when Abyss was in the Embassy. For som reason I always wondered what he could have done with the big fella. If Danielson/Morishima is anything to go by, he could do some great stuff with the bigger guys.

Angle had a frighteningly good four minute TV match on iMPACT! a few weeks back similar to the matches he had with Mysterio. I'd love to see Angle and Red go all out with some time on PPV.

I think there were issues with Abyss wasn't there? That said, a one-off title shot would have been good back then, but I guess it would've been out of nowhere at that point.

Aye,Dragon/Shima's matches were all blinders. That's what made me think of Show. He'd have to have the same freedom to play off the sort of subtle elements that made those efforts so special though. His sense of match psychology is crazy, especially when he's against less obvious opponents.

As for Angle/Red, yeah It would be an interesting one for sure.

Also another thing I'd love to see is Rey go back to Mexico for his swansong and work a massive feud with heel Mistico (who's immensely entertaining to watch).
