Reasons why you feel down?

Everyone has reasons for feeling down in the dumps, sometimes it can be something little and passing or something huge that impacts on your life greatly.

So what is getting you down right now?
I have a kidney infection, my thesis deadline is looming ever closer and I like a lot of people are, I am worried about finding work after my masters and then having to move home with my parents.

Be it big or small what is getting you down lately? maybe posting here will help get it off your chest and you may be able to get support from fellow boardsies.

Note: I really hope this doesn't devolve into 'god I wish that was all I was worried about'

Are you aware I have a ritual called 'The Terminator'? I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualise either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd film. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

    I've just posted in an emo 'aarrghh' thread;

I've got no mates at the moment. Not one. It's been a month and they still won't believe I didn't say what I supposedly did.

My birthday in 6 weeks, and I've not a single mate.

+1 on the boredom, what's worse is I know I should be doing stuff, but I put the pro in procrastinate!

I was feeling great before I came in here. I hadn't a care in the world. Now I'm down because I'm not sure I'll be able to do the Terminator thing in my shower. I've only got a cubicle and it mightn't be big enough.

The older I get the more obvious it is becoming that my childhood ambitions were ridiculous and that I , like 99.999999% of people are doomed to a mediocre life illuminated only by shards of shattered dreams and annual holidays. Watching my life zoom by as I wait for the train to crash into the inevitable wall of death.

I'm right there with you on point one and two. (F*cking thesis )
point three, I'm back living with the mammy already. It's not so bad, you get used to it again.

It's hard to stay positive when there's so much that can easily drag you down. Cheer up OP, as Baz Luhrmann said: "Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum".:)

I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die? Why do they come to me to die?"

Let me tell you a little something about your academics...
You know all those poems, books and mathematical equations you're learning right now?

They are all absolutely VITAL in our daily lives. Not a day goes by where I don't have to recite a poem or call out an intricate and quite difficult diagram or announce the contents of the Periodic Table.

Irish is a dead language anyway. It's conclusively useless to your development as a human being in an ever changing world of cosmopolitanism. One day, you will know the truth. It'll be either the red pill or the blue one.

    I've a few reasons I'm feeling sh*tty this evening:
    • Something happened on Sunday night that may affect a good friendship, and I'm worried about that.
    • Someone I like keeps making it difficult for me to like them
    • I've got exams in 4 weeks that I don't really want to do but I have to do them, and I really couldn't be arsed studying. Opened my books today and got completely overwhelmed by the amount in front of me :(
    • I'm still sick from a weekend of WAY too much sauce.
On the plus side, I lost my purse on Friday night and this LOVELY man from Rehab Recycling rang my house phone today to say he'd found my purse in one of their bottle bins! He had got my name and address off my driver's licence and said that since I'd such an unusual surname he reckoned it would be easy to find me in the phonebook and he did. Obviously my cash is gone, but there were lots of other little bits in it that meant a lot to me (and my driver's licence of course) and it was a really expensive purse so I'm very grateful to that guy for going out of his way to get in touch :)

Resubmitting work this summer for my final year in a course which I love, but due to useless tutors in the last year, found it hard to sustain my interest through all their crap. Am now going to end up with a 3rd when I should be getting a much better grade
