I take it every day and have definitely noticed a less moody self when I have my period. It's great!

I've used it a few times doing massages, its great for headaches if you massage it into the temples or,anyone I've given a head massage to with it has enjoyed it anyway, that reminds me I must get some more :)

Absolutely definitely noticed a change in my monthly dose of "the blues" and it stops me getting sore boobies and lessened period pains generally around my period time. I´ve taken it everyday for over a year but ran out this month and my boobs are currently the size of pregnant cow udders and are KILLING me. I used the Women´s Health Boots Brand 1050mg super strength. I bought them in the UK though when I was visiting friends but have a look in Boots in Ireland...the Seven Seas brand is just as good.

Evening primrose oil is good, but Starflower oil is a supercharged version of the same and works miracles, not just on moods but on breakouts and boob tenderness too.

If you're not too bad get the Primrose, but if you're really clinging to sanity or prone to hormone spots, try the Starflower.

The one in my chemist was a combo of both, sounds like the best of both worlds

I must be the exception to the rule. I took it a few years ago and it made the pain worse, I thought. However, I've never heard anyone else say that it was bad for them.

I keep meaning to try evening primrose, the amount of extra supplements I take is unreal!
I find chamomile very soothing, eases pain too.

Can't say I've noticed any effect really, but I keep taking it as its supposed to be good for rheumatism etc.

I take it every night with Valerian. Definitely helps to keep the madness abay. I do get PMT but nothing as extreme as I used to. Take the maximum dose of 3 capsules a day.

Am going back on the pill so will be interesting to see if it still helps the bonkers days.

I'd give it a full cycle, takes a few weeks iirc.:)

Okay, this sounds like some kind of miracle product. Must have! Do you take it every day of the month, or just around your period? Can you take it while on other medications too, or what's the story with it? And is it OTC or do you find it with the vitamins and things in the chemist? How much is it?!

That's all the questions I have!

You take it everyday, not just around your period. As far as I know you can take it while on other medications, check with your pharmacist when your picking it up. It would be with the vitamins. I'm not sure how much it is, sorry. :)

Was looking at these today in Boots. I already have been taking the Boots 520mg one, but what do you ladies recommend? The prices vary a lot!

I have used the Starflower oil before which is more or less the same except supposedly more active ingredient. I also took a daily Vitamin B complex and the combination of the two certainly seemed to take the edge off the craziness :D

I think the GLA content is the one to look out for on the back of the label, so you can see which capsule is better value. The ones I have for example are 1000mg starflower oil and have 190mg GLA.

One of the well known health shops often do half price offers and two for one so it can be good to stock up at those times, if it's something you'll use.

I got 1000mg strength capsules in Tesco today, 90 for €5.65, better value than Boots :)
