Belfast Pre-Orders iPhone 4

Okay, think its time to start a new thread as the other thread is getting a bit bloated now. The main reason for this thread is to offer Belfast stock info, and in the event you can't make your pre-order maybe some people would be willing to swap with you.

I know this thread will probably be obsolete when the iPhone is released in the south, however I still believe stock will be limited here in the republic.

Okay ill start, I pre-ordered my iPhone on the 3rd of July, if anyone can't make their pre-order I'm willing to swap. PM if interested.

I believe people have been collecting their pre-orders from the 27th of June is this correct?

Four of a kind, I would be willing to trade my reservation with you if that happens, hopefully it won't as I'm sure your anxious to get it.

Must be a long list

I'm heading over to England from the 29th july to the 5th aug and ordered mine on the 14th of July.

I'm hoping that I won't get the email until I come back home!

Otherwise I'll just try and find an apple shop over there and try my luck!

Lost4Life, ultimately that's what this thread is for, when we originally reserved the iPhone did we expect to wait this long, I don't think so. So if your away hopefully someone is willing to swap dates with you.

I myself am away from Dublin a lot and hope I don't miss my reservation.

    Hi All,

I'm sitting in the TGI Friday's upstairs from the Apple store in Belfast. Was in the City on business and just dropped in to the Apple store on the off chance.

I missed the last iPad by 20 minutes and the guy says that the waiting list for iPhone is at least the size of the first rush and he had no idea when this would ease.

I told him that the iPad was being released in Dublin on Friday, he was wondering what retailers would be stocking it and when I gave him the list he pretty much said that that was going to be the end of the shortage up in Belfast.

Here comes my Jack Daniels burger.....:D

Just heard from a couple of friends of mine who received the email that they are up to the 30th June on the list. They must be fulfilling pre orders quicker than I thought.

Four of a kind did you receive your email?

Both of them got the email about an hour ago, so you might get one yet, if not I'm sure it might be within the next couple of days.

I reserved mine at approx 10am on the 26th and recieved my pickup email on the 10th of July (While in Berlin...) but I got a friend to pick it up for me. They don't ask for ID or anything. He paid with cash and all was cool. So that could be an option for ya mate, if you don't get an email before you go?

Guys , can anyone who get their new iphone post wether the serial number starts with an 8 or with a 7?

I got my iphone replaced yesterday in Machester because my first iphone dropped 2 calls and few times did not have good reception. The problem really started 2 weeks ago and not from the beginning..

My new iphone 4 serial starts with 4 and it does not have any problem at all

just been told by a store employee that there is at least 6 weeks of reservations left to go through and no phones are available for walk in customers.

says the white version should also be released to coincide with the irish release date.

I'm assuming people from the South have stopped ordering them from Belfast store? Reckon it'll come out down here before your reservation up North is ready..?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,136 ✭✭✭Jofspring

Would think when its released down here that the 6 weeks of reservations to be filled will rapidly drop as a lot of people on the list might be able to pick them up down here before their turn comes up north. Belfast store is probably not taking this into consideration and is just presuming most reservations will still be picked up in belfast.

I'll second that, if anyone can't / won't collect let me know! I'm also on the list AND have one ordered direct from apple uk. I can switch dates / exchange for the phone when I get it (approx 3 weeks).

    Any takers?:D

I pre-ordered two iPhones on the 5th of July (one 16 GB model and one 32) for me and my girlfriend.

I just received the pick-up email for the 32 GB pre-order. So they are moving up the list quite quickly.

I've got a 16 gig ordered from apple uk site, should be delivered to my northern address within three weeks. Also pre-ordered from Belfast on 10th July.

If you are prepared to wait a couple of weeks for mine to come, I'll take the 32 gig off you?

Hi Gleep, thanks for the offer but looking to swap with someone with a pre-order that has got the email and is available to pickup today or tomorrow.

Sorry should have been more clear.

    Anyone else?

Just got notified that my two 32gb phone are ready for collection, I ordered them on the 11th July.

Timing is shot, I could have travelled up today if I'd gotten the notification earlier but it looks like I have to jump the train in the morning.

Meteor shop in Omni have micro sims available but only for new connections/new numbers, they say they cannot do a sim replacement on them yet.

Thats not a bad wait time Target, sounds like they're getting better. I ordered my 16gb on 10th, relentlessly checking the mails now!
    Enjoy:D

thats ridiculous. of course them can, all they use is the uccid attached to each sim.

i thought that myself, although i didnt know the technical terms to be used :)
ive just cut my standard sim and its working fine, so will get an official meteor microsim when there out during the week, or i might pop into a shop in town an quote the above text to them, thanks. :D

the girl did say that all the current micro sims have numbers assigned to them, so maybe she'd get into trouble for giving them out as sim replacements.

What do i need to bring?
Do i just print out the email and bring that and give gleeps name?
It has no serial number on the email or anything. Do I need to bring ID or anything?
    Do they take Euro?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 692 ✭✭✭gleep

Afaik you just print out the email! Cant hurt to bring id as well, and im not sure but dont think they accept cash.

Best give them a ring to confirm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭igor420

I was thinking maybe i should ring and ask them is it ok if i pick it up for a friend. I will defo ask them about Euros and confirm thier opening hours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭igor420

I rang them up there and they said it is ok to pick it up for a friend as long as the email is forwarded to my email account. They also said that they do not accept Euro.

i collected 2 iPhone 4's last week, wasnt asked for any ID, just the names that were on the list. i also printed out the 2 collection emails just incase.

i think the euro's question is a no brainer, you cant walk into O2 on Henry street or any big named shop for that matter and pay with sterling.

That is not a good point! You can pay with euro in loads of places up the north- asda, river island and DV8 to name a few.
