If Undertaker and HHH are fit and back I expect it will be Sheamus V HHH and Kane V Undertaker for the world titles and Cena V Barrett or Nexus in some way

    Following last night's Raw

    WWE Title Match
    Randy Orton vs. Sheamus

    Team Raw vs. Team Nexus
John Cena, Bret Hart, Edge, Chris Jericho, R-Truth, The Great Khali and John Morrison vs. Wade Barrett, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young and David Otunga

(So is there a traitor on Team Raw who will join or be the leader of Nexus? Edge, Bret or Jericho seem likely imo)

Ricky Steamboat remains in the hospital and continues to experience a great deal of head pain. This, coupled with the fact that he has been there for so many weeks now, has people very concerned.

It's also believed that Steamboat was originally scheduled to be part of the Summerslam main event and Bret Hart ended up being his replacement.

Would have been great if Steamboat was able to wrestle

Is it just me or do the wwe have a lot to answer for here, although the nexus angle is good they see it as fair to fire BD for his tie chokein actions because of some upset PG sponsors, yet its fine to let nexus go on after they nearly kill steamboat and no one seem to be any bit upset. To make it worse they though it was fine to have Nexus rant on about how they destroyed him the following week on raw with SB still in a serious condition in hostipal. I hope ricky sues the crap out of the wwe and hits vince hard in the wallet.

The doctors said it was nothing to do with what happened on Raw though it was a pre-existing condition.

    It can't have helped either

I love to see Bryan come back at SS (wishful thinking :))

True but I was just thinking more in terms of him suing Vince which I'm sure he wouldn't do anyway.

No definitely not. If the rumour was about, it must have been purely amongst the crappier "newz" sites.

I think that poster looks like complete ass. Awful.

Shame about Bret having to replace Steamboat. Should still be a big, heated match-up. And something differenent too.

Jericho or Edge i'd say, keep an eye on Cena though. Read on a few sites that the creative team were bantering about him turning heel, dunno if it would happen given his merchandising appeal to the kids. Wonder if the new GM will be revealed at 'Slam? :P

Kane Vs Taker AGAIN ... well whupp-de-do da!

Seriously, surely the creative team have a bit more in them then to just say 'it was Kane all along'.

Kane (C) vs. Rey Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship also added

WWE has booked Big Show vs. CM Punk, Joey Mercury and Luke Gallows for upcoming live events. There is also talk that this match may take place on the SummerSlam pay-per-view.

    - When WWE made the decision to add the elimination stipulation to the RAW vs. Nexus match at SummerSlam, they also decided to drop one of the matches from the original line-up. No word yet on what that match was.

WWE is hoping that the RAW vs. Nexus match will be a big draw for the card. This could change between now and the show, but officials were planning the finish and trying to decide which member of Team RAW would cost their team the match.

    - World Champion Kane vs. Rey Mysterio.

    - Team WWE (John Cena, Bret Hart, Great Khali, R-Truth, John Morrison, ? and ?) vs. Nexus (Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield, Justin Gabriel and David Otunga).

    - Big Show vs. The Straight Edge Society (CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury)

Christ I normally enjoy the E ppv's but wow this one looks dismal. I have seen Rey v Kane before and it is never that good, no reason to get excited about it main eventing one of the so called big four. Sheamus v Orton at the Rumble was mediocre and really why should I think this match will be any better?

Cena and the lads v Nexus will be decent but really their is so many ordinary workers in the match its scary. It will be fun and I am very interested to see if anyone turns heel.

Show v S.e.s?, No thanks and I love Punk. :(

So basically a week before the PPV and their is only one match I can muster some excitement in!

Its astonishing to think when their PPV's are tanking, it looks like we will get such an underwhelming PPV.

Melina will get a Divas Title shot against Alicia Fox at SS

    - Big Show vs. The Straight Edge Society (CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury)

    - Diva's Champion Alicia Fox vs. Melina

I can see Dolph/Kofi being added from SD.

This is WWWWAAAAAAYYY worse than F4W, at least that show had Jericho vs Anal and Kofi vs McIntyre as a decent undercard.. Summerslam is one of the big four and its looking like the worst card of the year

It has the biggest angle of the year on it though, I'm really looking forward to Team WWE vs Nexus, just to see what happens, and who is the 7th person on Team WWE

Ah thats true, the Main Event is fantastic plus Sheamus vs Orton is awesome too, but the undercard is terrible for such a huge PPV..

I've a funny feeling Kane and Rey will have a good match. Other than that then there isnt much.

    What matches could be added?

    Possibles:-

    Drew V Christian
Kofi V Ziggler for IC title
Bourne V Miz for US title
    Harts V USOs
Layla V Kelly Kelly for Women's title

Because Bourne did so well getting squashed by the very same wrestler yesterday they'll without reason or rhyme add a rematch to a PPV? It's pretty obvious that the only additions at this point will come from Smackdown or some type of NXT promo match.

They have to have a squash match for Miz if he's going to cash in MITB. You can't have him lose a match to somebody cuz it wouldn't make sense.

If their was any chance of the Rock returning, they would hype it for ages as it would be a monumental event. They won't waste his return for a cheap pop, which what it would be if he returned Sunday. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

Part of me would love to see The Rock back and wrestling some of the people who have broken through in the intervening years and given his age he'd still be able to preform at a top level but his first stint was an almost perfect mixture of ability, charisma and timing it might feel a tad sad if he does return. Steve Jobs aside, second acts rarely add much to a legend and indeed frequently leave a bad taste in peoples' mouths.

Yes there is Bourne, Truth, Morrison, Ted Jnr, Yoshi, Ryder, Regal, Santino or even Barrett who he could drop it too

He has the MITB title shot why does he need the US title since he dont defend it

He should just vacate the thing for sure.. The guy has brought zero prestige to the title during his reign..

Usually we get one Match of the Year candidate from SummerSlam eg Austin vs Angle 01, HBK vs HHH 02, that trend has continued on into recent years too Jeff vs Punk TLC last year, Edge vs Taker Hell in a Cell 08, even Cena vs Orton from 07 was pretty damn good, however I just don't see that happening this year. We've seen Kane vs Mysterio, we know they are capable of putting on a good match, but never a great match together. I would like to think Orton & Sheamus can pull it off, but I don't think they will, I'm expecting something similar to what we saw at the Royal Rumble, ie decent, but nothing special.
Raw vs Nexus should be entertaining, but it'll be a clusterfukk, we all know it.
I don't expect anything from Big Show vs SES except for some exaggerated dirty finish
Dolpp & Kofi will put on a fast paced, exciting match, but we've seen them wrestle each other every Friday for the past month! Still should be the best match on the card though imo
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Melina vs Fox will be better than Big Show vs SES, yeah I actually thought their match on Raw this week was pretty good, lol

Can somebody please tell me what the hell Jack Swagger is doing? Surely they could have put him into the Kane/Mysterio match, it's not like many people would complain! It sure beats him sitting backstage and watching people forget about his character.
    Also, where is Drew McIntyre?

I can`t see how vince expects this event to increase the buys its a dissapointing card and I just know Undertaker will return making Smackdowns Title Match meaningless cause we all expected him to of returned by now.Sheamus vs Orton isn`t a real replacement for HHH vs Sheamus cause they put a lot of time into building up that rematch earlier in the year.As for Nexus vs Team WWE its not one to make me go wow despite the great build up.How come only Wade Barrett out of 7 members has had a singles match on Raw which were hardly 2 classics(i`m not counting the Nexus vs Superstars 7 as a match it was a squash job). The others must be hopeless if they didn`t get ring time on even Superstars.
Why do they follow the same routine in the beatdowns too,its move for move the same thing every time.

On RAW they said if anyone gets involved in the WWE title match they get suspended.

    That makes me wonder

Will HHH be back, interfere and get suspended to finish his rehab

    or

mean he will not be at the ppv.

I think it means Sheamus will lose the belt tbh. They've booked him as such a weak champion and if it weren't for his awesome promos I'd probably be very annoyed.

His promos are very good. I also think he is much more confident in the ring, its great to see him as WWE champion going into summerslam. Considering where he was last year its an amazing story.
