I've been in the gym quite a lot recently trying to get back some half decent level of fitness! Anyway today while on the treadmill I got a fairly sharp pain in my lower back! I was running for about 20 minutes and then it came on me and I had to stop even though I felt I had more in me and would have loved to hit the 30 minute mark!
I think I tend to lean forward slightly when I'm running so maybe this would be a cause??

    Hi Alan

Sorry, but I felt I had to close this thread.

If you suffered back pain severe enough to stop you running then you should seek advice possibly from a physio who could check your posture while you run to see if this is the cause of your pain. Or maybe he may sopt something else that you didn't.

As there could be a number of contributing factors, I don't think the an internet forum is the best place to seek advice and you could possibly get advice which causes you further discomfort.

I can if you require supply you with contact details for two physios I have used in the past and found really good. One is based in Dun Drum and the other in Dun Laoghaire. You can PM me if you would like their contact details.

Sorry I can't be more help.

    Best Regards,

    M
