SURELY this doesn't work? Sounds ridiculous...
    From Gizmodo.com
Kids around the country are getting high on the internet, thanks to MP3s that induce a state of ecstasy. And it could be a gateway drug leading teens to real world narcotics.

At least that's what Kansas News 9 is reporting about a phenomenon called I-dosing, which involves finding an online dealer who can hook you up with "digital drugs" that get you high through your headphones.

Sounds a lot like some applications that were going around a few years ago supposed to be able to manipulate brainwaves to induce different states like sleepiness or increased concentration.

Downloaded this ages ago, tried it a fair bit. Never tried drugs or drink in the past, so have no comparison. But I found all this did was help you reach a state of relaxation where you can either be lulled into half dreaming or panic, depending on which 'dose' you use.

Sounds like Binaural Beats, the most famous of which would be iDoser

I reckon anything anyone gets off it is a placebo.

careful, predators on-line could use this as a means to lure and sexually assault your children. there are reports of children being sexually assaulted with penis-shaped sound waves sent by sick perverts.

If the MP3 is recorded at a low bitrate would one experience a bad trip :pac:

First we had to contend with headshops. Now there is evil music on the interweb. What will the goverment do to protect us from this new menace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,593 ✭✭✭Sea Sharp

The real threat here is that somebody could open these drugs with audacity and modify them to create some sort of hybrid super drug.

    When will this madness end.

I listened to a few seconds of it and got way too warm, my heart sped up and i found it hard to move. it was pretty scary coz i really really wanted to turn it off but my arms took forever to reach they keyboard. I guess its like those frequencies like brown noise or that trick Darren Brown did where he makes you glued to your seat with a sound.
I really did not like it and i wudnt call it a 'high' but then you I can't keep up with the trends the kids are following these days XD

    Probably.

Saves them worrying about real issues, like unemployment.

Has anybody heard of these things? Apparantly the idea is that they play this rediculous noise into your head through your headphones that somehow syncs your brain to the same frequency or something as whatever it is your doing. There is a whole bunch of different ones, almost every drug, and a whole bunch more.
