They keep the drink colder and makes the drink taste better. Especially with coca cola.

Depends on the drink. Beer from a bottle or draft, Coke is better from a can.

I prefere bottles-with soft drinks i can close the bottle and bring it round with me if i have to.

Cans of Coke and Club Orange are much nicer than bottles.

I find the less of the drink is in the 'container' the nicer it is so Coca Cola in order of taste goes like:

Can
350ml bottle
500ml Bottle
1.25L Bottle
1.5L Bottle
2L Bottle

Presume they do this as it'd cost you more to buy 6 cans of the 'really nice' coke than a 2L bottle!

I was under the assumption that coke tastes overwhelmingly better from a bottle.
(edit: glass bottle that is.)

I prefer cans for beer. You don't have to go and a refill as often and you can crush the can in your hand when you're finished to try and make yourself feel manly.

It's the same with a 2L of Coke to be honest, you get about three hours to drink it or it's gone flat....no matter how hard you screw the cap on :mad:

A chilled 500ml plastic bottle of coke is the nicest in my opinion.

And with beer, cold cans are better than bottles. So satisfying just knocking them back.

When it comes to beer its has to be bottles but with soft drinks has to be a can. Pity beer doesnt come in 500ml bottles and cans of soft drinks dont come in 500ml cans.:(

I much prefer a can when drink coke, fanta, etc. When it comes to beer, I think bottles are way nicer. My favourite would be fanta and coke out of the pump in mcdonalds and kfc.

Yeah cans of minerals are 100 times nices then in a bottle, particularly coke and bottles of beer are 100 times nicer then cans of beer

Cans FTW, even prefare cans over bottles for beer, first there usually bigger (standard bottles are 33cl, beer cans 50cl) and they arnt as flat as bottles, also prefare drinking from the can than from the bottle spout (I actually have to pour a bottle into a glass to drink it), If I'm out in a restaurant and theres only bottled beer on offer I'll go for a soft drink instead, really can't stand bottled beer... Draught is of course the best option but its too costly for me

I was actually having a debate with a friend lastnight about this.

I prefer cans especially with cider! If I get cider in a pub or store I would buy it in a can I find it nicer than bottles or pints. I love cans of coke but only buy them in a 6 pack to put in the fridge. I tend to go for a bottle when I am out and about because I can close them.

Glass bottles rock. Drinking from can sucks in comparison. I don't drink anything that comes in plastic bottles (other than water) so that is not an area of my expertise.

Cans of coke taste much better than plastic bottles, but the handyness of being able to close the bottle wins for me.

In Japan you can get aluminium bottles of Coke; best of both worlds. I don't know why they don't bring them in over here.

I can't remember the last time I drank a soft drink I just seem to have gone of them completely.

Alcohol is much better from the bottle, even better than pints in some cases. I've been drinking bottles of Guinness lately and it's lovely. Last time I went to the pub I went drinking pints of Guinness and was in a horrible state the next day with farts that would strip paint of the walls, don't get that with the bottled Guinness.

I would say I'd love if they sold the bottled Guinness in the pubs but it would probably cost over a fiver for one bottle if they did.

If the can is empty you can't throw it at the cops as effectively as an empty bottle and it doesn't make that lovely tinkling sound upon impact.

But the best missiles are jars of mayonaise. The mess they make is incredible. Garda patrol cars and personnel plastered in wads of stinking white goo.

Bovril and Marmite jars are a close second.
