Changing Fireplace

I'm a fool in a fog on this problem and need some advice please.

I have an old Baxi gas fire and I'd like to change it to a more attractive gas fire, I like the Victorian style of fireplace surround. Could anyone tell me please do the fireplace shops install them or do I need a plumber, or a builder? The old boiler needs to be serviced/upgraded too, and its situated behind the chimney breast. I only have one alcove to the left of the chimney breast and the chimney breast extends right across to the wall on right. I'd like to get an alcove on the right but don't know if I'd be breaking through into next door!

We haven't a clue where to start looking. Any advice would be appreciated.
