I have two tablespoons of flaxseed that you get in Dunnes everyday. I eat Salmon once a week. I was just wondering am I get enough good fats or should I get one of those fish oil supplements as well?

All the research at the moment shows the benefit from fish oil, not flaxseed.

Flaxseed is a 'parent' omega 3 oil so needs to be converted from ALA to EPA and then from EPA to DHA.

Less than 5% of ALA gets converted to EPA, and less than 0.5% of ALA is converted to DHA.

So you'd have to down a LOT of flax oil to get any benefit. That's assuming that very little flax is rancid, which is unlikely.

Eating fish is even better than fish oil, so that would be the best option, next best option is fish oil, then DHA from algae, then flax.
